In this article I demonstrate the creation of an Open Layers application that uses an animated WMS layer published on GeoServer. Data is obtained from NCDC's temperature database. Temperatures are interpolated for all contiguous US states. Interpolations are then polygonized using a quadriculation algorithm and these polygons are inserted into a PostGIS database. These polygons are published as a layer on GeoServer and then animated using the WMS animator.
This article describes how to animate individual temperature bands interpolated from NCDC temperature data.

Hi everyone,
I am facing problems regarding clustering. I'm unable to communicate geoserver across multiple servers. Multiple geoservers on one machine or vm with perfect and catalog is updated when changes are made to one node. But I'm unable to send these changes over network to other machines. Any guidence please?

http://localhost:8080/geoexplorer/composer/#maps/1
Los pasos que he realizado son:
1.- Entramos en el rooter para redireccionar los puertos: http://192.168.1.1
2.-  añado en Avanced setup -> NAT lo siguiente:

Server Name : map
External Port : 8080
Start External Port : 8080
End Protocol Internal TCP
Port Start Internal 8080
Port End Server 8080
 IP Address192.168.1.40

Hi all, I'm trying to cluster geoserver horizontally. Multiple machines with geoservers on it. Done with placing libs in lib folder but it keeps displaying broker localhost not started, unable to bridge between vm etc. Any hints? I'm behind apache http server

Hi, is there any possibility to encrypt geoserver wms requests in Openlayers?

I believe you need to look int using HTTPS.

I am afraid anything different would need to be a new protocol between GS and OL.

Is it possible to output the visible layers in GeoServer so each layer is separated in the output PDF file?

Ciao Dean,
I assume you want to have a single PDF with multiple pages each referring to a single layer.

That should be feasible with the MapFish based GeoServer printing plugin, we have done something similar a few times. You can find an example here:
http://demo.geo-solutions.it/share/blog_material/advanced-print.pdf

If you are interested, drop me a few lines so I can have the guys send over the YAML for that pdf.

I'm trying to publish a large postgis table (1.1 million records) as wms in geoserver. The problem is that it's very slow so I tried to use geowebcache to seed some tiles. However, the seed process stops but no cache is generated. I'm using geoserver 2.4.
Any tips on serving large postgis tables? How to know if geowebcache is working?

Thanks again Jody. I'll try the scale specific style. I just need to add a collumn to the features table related to scale. Probably polygon area might be a good start.

#GeoServer   2.5.4 released!
The GeoServer team is pleased to announce the release of GeoServer 2.4.5: GeoServer 2.4.5 download page. This is the final stable release of the 2.4 series: Oracle JNDI configuration now allows a fetch size parameter, limiting the number of rows that are retrieved in one gulp.
