My guess is it would've been scuppered regardless, but at least the CSL will stop raising our blood pressure this window.

Yuhui confirmed he was interested in signing Costa before the decision to restrict foreign imports, which comes into force when the new Chinese Super League season kicks off in March.

"If [the rule] had been '4+1' as in the past, then we would have made a big investment this year, but now it seems to be changed to three," Yuhui told Tianjin TV.
Diego Costa's hopes of moving to the Chinese Super League (CSL) have been scuppered by a new restriction on foreign players, according to Tianjin Quanjian's owner.

A good striker is hard to keep hold of especially when there is ridiculous money on the table. But some strikers play for the badge.

Should #Chelsea Diego Costa and buy another striker? Currently #Batshuayi is the only striker and #Conte isn't keen.

Watch the video and have your say. #CFC

Costa trolls Kenedy, and in turn the rest of the world
King prankster at Cobham confirmed

While Kenedy was live on social media, Costa left a cheeky comment saying that Kenedy was headed out to loan at the rival of his youth club.

Costa left his comment on Kenedy’s live Instagram video and that’s the screenshot that started to make the rounds around Twitter and the web. But it turns out that Kenedy replied to that comment live on the air, so to speak, and that comment went something along the lines of “[FUN] Mengão; I am Xerém”, where Mengão is a nickname for Flamengo and Xerém is a nickname for Fluminense, Kenedy’s old club. Fla and Flu are two of the biggest rivals in world football, so the response is understandable, as is Costa’s joke. And like all good practical jokes, it’s not entirely baseless given the earlier speculation from ESPN Brasil of Kenedy going to Flamengo on loan.

I'm sorry, but if +Oscar could leave for China, then ANYBODY could.

I am slightly concerned, as we don't have another striker at his level.

The difference between Oscar and Costa is that we had a glut of midfielders, so maybe that eased his exit

Nevin's write-up on the Leicester match.
A great replay of Pedro's outstanding touch to goal

I can’t tell you just how impressed I was by Pedro’s pass in the 71st minute, but I am going to have a good go at trying. In the build up to his goal he played the most sublime, imaginative, devastating pass I have witnessed for a long time. I kid you not; this touch is the sort only a few players in world football would even consider trying in a match situation.
It is impossible to ignore the impact of Marcus Alonso in this game and indeed on the fantastic run of form we have been on in general. I have talked before about how much his running and covering helps the likes of Eden Hazard, because Eden, Pedro or whoever is ahead of him doesn’t need to chase back as much. It is also worth mentioning the reciprocal arrangement whereby Eden and co. vacate that space on the left-hand side intelligently, to allow Marcus to charge in there with such devastating effect.
There were moments in the win at Leicester that had our columnist Pat Nevin prepared to dust off the age-old clichés…
