Rewind.... Up until June 2010 I did not own a DSLR. June 2009 to June 2010 I was using a Canon SX10IS bridge camera, some people call them super zooms. The SX10IS was a good tool to get me to understand photography as it allowed a lot more control than a compact camera. Many sate it's not the gear it's the photographer, well I am away at work in Charlottetown, PEI. So in the spirit of this thought what the hell don't take your DSLR's step backward and see how it goes. First I agree one can get a shot thats pleasing with any camera, but can one get the shot with difficult situation with any camera, that I feel is where the general statement falls down. I believe it is encouragement to be creative and use the camera that is at your disposal. So with not alot of time to spare and a difficult situation, catching a pre sunset, what would the result be. Well I also decided to take my old $50 tripod as well just to make it more interesting. So this experience says yes you can get a shot, yes its ok but no one would want to buy it. It was however a great experience and challenge.
This is a manual blend of 3 x JPG images that were shot using Av mode with exposure compensation to capture the brackets.
