This is where I spent my summer last year and I plan to do it again this year. I'm itching to get the kayaks out again.

Taken back in Aug near Summerside Prince Edward Island Canada, the Searletown Road extends out through lower Bedeque out to a point where you find Summerside Harbour Lighthouse. Once out on the point you look south toward the Northumberland Strait and you see this view. My entry for #TonemapHDRTuesday curated by +Drew Pion and +Stephanie Suratos

Rewind.... Up until June 2010 I did not own a DSLR. June 2009 to June 2010 I was using a Canon SX10IS bridge camera, some people call them super zooms. The SX10IS was a good tool to get me to understand photography as it allowed a lot more control than a compact camera. Many sate it's not the gear it's the photographer, well I am away at work in Charlottetown, PEI. So in the spirit of this thought what the hell don't take your DSLR's step backward and see how it goes. First I agree one can get a shot thats pleasing with any camera, but can one get the shot with difficult situation with any camera, that I feel is where the general statement falls down. I believe it is encouragement to be creative and use the camera that is at your disposal. So with not alot of time to spare and a difficult situation, catching a pre sunset, what would the result be. Well I also decided to take my old $50 tripod as well just to make it more interesting. So this experience says yes you can get a shot, yes its ok but no one would want to buy it. It was however a great experience and challenge.
This is a manual blend of 3 x JPG images that were shot using Av mode with exposure compensation to capture the brackets.
