The wildflowers are beginning to burst forth in the Santa Monica Mountains, in Southern California, part of the National Recreation Areas set aside to preserve our country's natural beauty and resources. I was lucky that the winds we had had earlier in the day had calmed so these beautiful Lupins would stay still during my exposures. The clouds were a little thicker than I would have preferred, and what little color there was dissipated quickly.

I made a 3 image manual blend (out of a 5 shot bracket) taken with my EOS 7D Mk II, EF-S10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM @ 22mm, ƒ/11, ISO 400. After the blend the image was finished in PhotoshopCC 2014.
