It's always great to see kids advocating for a cause they care about. I stumbled across this article where students from a school called Elgin Academy are doing a 3.5 mile walk next week in order to benefit an organization called water mission. The great thing about this walk is that the students will be carrying 20 pounds of books using backpacks to mirror what almost a billion people go through everyday just to access clean water. The article also talks about the Water Mission organization and their goals.

#InDeepShit grabs the attention right away. The article brings light to the ongoing problems in the WASH sector in India, and other countries too, that building a toilet in a community does not always mean access to sanitation and hygiene for all. Bezwada Wilson has been advocating for those who fall through the gas of our system including the disables and transgender people. Like many development projects, the benefits are not fully realized without education. Effective sanitation requires hygiene education, and safe fecal removal. Wilson eloquently states, "any human cannot clean another's shit for the sake of roti."
