Hypersonic Systems (aka Galactic Systems Inc, a Delaware LLC) is continuing its development of its GridFone technology. We have transformed our earlier LSL/PHP script system into a solid and robust Websockets technology that interfaces with our LSL codebase inworld for solid, reliable, unblockable intergrid communications between ANY VW/VR/AR platform we choose to do business on. The GridFone, when it is introduced, will provide robust, reliable, seamless A2A (avatar to avatar) as well as conferenced group chat communications between SL, any hypergridded OS grid, other closed grids, as well as beginning service into High Fidelity and Unity based worlds.
"You will be able to reach anyone, on any grid or world, you choose to communicate with, even those who do not themselves have GridFones," said CEO Mike Lorrey, "and we will be marketing heavily in Second Life to ensure that the Wall around the SL Garden comes crashing down just as assuredly as the fax machine destroyed the Iron Curtain and the Soviet Union."
GridFones will start with A2A and group chat services, expanding with an app API/SDK for other developers to create apps for our Virtual Smartphone System, to sell in the GridFone Appstore, and eventually both voice and even video communications that will be more reliable than Vivox, and unlike Vivox, as interworld-capable as our text chat system.
GridFones will be available on the Kitely Marketplace, the SL Marketplace, as well as our various stores in the Gloebit and Podex economies. GridFone users will be able to buy friends ad-supported "freemium" GridFones straight from their own gridfones, and gift them to those friends on any grid or world. Every ad-supported GridFone can be easily upgraded to ad-free with a low cost subscription or sufficient levels of app purchases on our app store with Galacticoins, Gloebits, Podex, KC, L$, paypal, bitcoin, or other currencies we may implement.
Alpha testing of GridFone will begin with a limited number of invited parties within a month. Market introduction of GridFone v 0.25 will commence in mid-to-late-summer 2017.

IMA Commerce Working Group Call for Participation

Stakeholders in metaverse e-commerce are invited to participate in the Commerce Working Group to help develop standards and specifications for the IMA's roadmap for OS development. The CWG has three main areas of concern:
a) digital economy: money systems, virtual finance, and regulatory compliance with real world legal systems.
b) intellectual property: developing specifications for improved permissions systems, better content security and theft/fraud detection, exploring smart contract technologies, and simplifying IP protection and dispute resolution, and reforming OAR technologies to preserve original creator credits.
c) intergrid commerce: improving the ability of merchants to sell across the hypergrid, to send content and receive payments, and communicate with customers via groups, chat, and other technologies.

Stakeholders may include any of the following: Grid owners/managers for grids that operate their own grid money system and/or content marketplace (online or inworld), 3rd party money systems (Gloebit/Podex, etc), and content creators, as well as any coders with an interest in improving these features of OpenSim.

If you are interested in participating with this working group, please email me, Mike Lorrey, at To learn more about IMA Working Groups, and to find a group that might fit your interests, see the following:

Terrible wrong course for Opensim!

Now that Magnuz Binders statistical datapage has closed, and grid after grid insisting on not displaying their stats, then we wont have any idea about where to find customers anymore.
It is a step backwards for opensim, especially when trying to attract creators. Who wants to go to set up shop in a city where you cant see the number of the population.

There are also too much madness in opensim these days. The issues with copytheft and rights are also out of control and gridowners fighting eachother constant to try to get more residents is just having the opposite result.

Today it seems that people go to Opensim for entertainment, and not the kind you immidiately think of, but to either be part of the dramafest there always is or to just be entertained by fake news that are so fake so its screaming to the sky.

What on earth can we do to get it back on the right course?

Is the Hypergrid Business Blog hurting Opensim?

There has been a lot of drama and negative things on that blog lately, and I wonder if its good for Opensim, to publish things like that when you really just want to attract people.
Or maybe Maria Korolov do not want to attract people to Opensim but instead want more readers to her blog so she can make some more money on advertising? People loves drama...or?

If you sell something fullperm and put a license onto it, then its not really full perm, right?
So it is false advertising when you advertise it as full perm, or what?
