On the whole, Mormons are good people. Most of us do our best to try to live the gospel. Most of us try to be Christ-like and obedient to the Lord. Unfortunately, even the best of us tend to fall into traps of bad thinking without even being aware of it. This flawed thinking can interfere with our ability to fully live the gospel. These mistakes can keep us from experiencing the full blessings and joy that come with gospel discipleship. More often than not making these mistakes can actively make us miserable.

The aim of news media in our time is to play up controversy. I saw this years ago when engaging in public debate and activism. You might have fifty people show up in support of some worthy cause, against two or three in opposition, and the reporters and cameras will give the three equal time, to give the impression of a "stalemate."

I'm sorry some people's existence is so petty they prefer shopping centers to houses of worship, and would consider one of our beautiful temples "an eyesore," but I suspect if a legitimate poll were done of the residents of Saratoga Springs, the opposition would be MINISCULE in comparison to the way it's portrayed here.

This is why I tend to ignore all forms of "news" media anymore. Life is too short to litter your mind with this detritus.

“When we treat God’s commandments and our part in building His kingdom like something to check off on a to-do list, we miss the heart of discipleship. We miss the growth that comes from joyfully living the commandments of our Father in Heaven." (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “Living The Gospel Joyful,” Ensign, Nov. 2014).

“The gospel of Jesus Christ is not a checklist of things to do; rather, it lives in our hearts. The gospel “is not weight; it is wings.” It carries us.” (Jean A. Stevens, “Fear Not; I Am with Thee,” Ensign, May 2014).

So today I had a question.
These past of couple of weeks especially today I have only heard negative thing to me and everyone else.
It makes me feel stupid and like I am just a waste of time.
Do my question is what do you do to overcome, I pray and read my scriptures but what else can u do?

This is how you can be a Mormon AND a feminist, without being a part of the Ordain Women movement.
