At the The Neverending Bookshop this Saturday in Bothell. Thanksgiving weekend at Book & Game Walla Walla. Spoke with April at Odyssey Bookshop in Port Angeles about an author reading and book signing. Newsradio KONP Peninsula College Olympic Peninsula Sequim, Washington The Sequim Gazette. The Neverending Bookshop Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Group I will keep you posted on dates. April at Odyssey mentioned an event in Sequim as well, depending on interest. It would be kind of ironic to sign and sell my own books in the SHS library.
Starting in January, Brick & Mortar Books will begin carrying my books at their Redmond store.
As Tom Petty said, "It's been a long, hard road." As Jimmy Buffet said, "I don't know where I'm gonna go when the volcano blows."

Provocative Book Reveals Widespread Abuse of Cancer Patients' Rights

The following book was world-wide released on October 26th 2017 and is now available in paperback form (5½ × 8½″, 288 pages) and as an Amazon kindle edition:

“The Right To The Truth”

“For families and friends of patients with cancer”

Written by: I.C. Papachristos, MD

Foreword: Prof. Peter Goldstraw

Edited by: George A. Rossetti

The author argues that cancer patients have an inalienable right to be informed of their diagnosis, disease stage, treatment options, and prognosis. These arguments are reinforced by stories (“clinical Counterexamples”) that expose through shocking examples how dysfunctional, dishonest healthcare practitioners are failing their patients. Sadly, patients' rights are often violated throughout the world with appalling consequences.

The book offers supportive advice mainly to family members and friends of cancer patients. Yet, it may also be useful to their caregivers: physicians, nurses, psychologists, clergy (especially on how to practically disclose “bad” or unpalatable news to patients).

The book can be found in several cancer-related ‘Listopia’ lists by ‘goodreads’ and is highly positioned among the first 10 books in each category.

Please read the book and see for yourself how vulnerable cancer patients can better be protected from exploitation.

The book's official webpage comprises its synopsis, cover, chapter titles, links, as well as a free excerpt etc.:

In the webpage above one can find direct links for buying the book in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain and all other countries of the world.

The book is the English translation of a book originally published in Greek on June 26th, 2016 ( iBooks Store & kobo: “Δικαίωμα στην Αλήθεια” / Dhikaeoma steen Aleetheia / ).

Quote from Prof. P. Goldstraw's foreword (also displayed on the book's blurb):

Dr. Papachristos sets out the arguments for... how such a policy can be implemented in clinical practice... I am sure that patients, their friends and relatives, and eventually their health care providers, will benefit from the study of this excellent book

The Neverending Bookshop is a wonderful little boutique shop where I will be doing a reading on October 28, 2017. I just wanted my loyal followers to see the place so that you know how to get there. As you will soon see, there will only be a limited number of chairs, and the space should fill rather quickly. It's a two hour event, but we can take breaks anytime we like. See you there!
