Find Out Why I Think Peak Design is THE Best Way To Carry Your Cameras, and Enjoy 10% Off Peak Design Products in the Process...
There are so many camera straps out there, making a choice can be daunting. B&H Photo lists 1,259 to choose from! Where to begin!? Well Ive tried everything there is. Slings, holsters padded straps, suspenders...you name it. And sadly...there is something wrong with every system out there. All of them have their weaknesses, and not one of them ever made me feel like Id finally found a system I could live with. One that would just work...

Samsung NX500 - Review
One of the most unfairly treated camera manufacturer of all time recently updated their much maligned camera lineup. This time it's called Samsung NX500 and their fifth generation of mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras since 2010. Yet again it's rising conflicting opinions from pro photographers to common people. I tried to find out how this often wrongly primed camera lineup perform in real life situations.

 Best Sellers
Point and shoot cameras provide a very practical way to capture the moment. They are great for short trips, travel, birthdays, school and other social occasions.

I shoot mirroless and one of the best things about these cameras is that you can purchase an adapter to attach virtually any manufac. lens. This is a 29yr old Minolta 70-210 f/4 attached to my Sony A7II that I just purchased. I took my wedding band and place on the ground to grab this shot at 210mm SOOC!

Check Out a Review I Did of Some Really Cool Gear By the Guys at +Peak Design Team !

One that would just work. That is...till I found Peak Design. The fellas at Peak Design just plain get it! There is nothing you don't need, the quick release plate doesn't get in the way when you want to carry in a sling configuration, there are no design flaws, no anything.... that isn't form, following function...as if it is, its J O B !

Hit the blog for the rest....

I Have Something NEW I Want to Share With YOU!

For the last week Ive spent every waking moment completely rebuilding my website, from the ground up. I had to leave behind a platform that wouldn't allow me to grow, or update CONTENT easily (It needed updates though.. left and right! And that was another part of the problem! Wordpress 'cough' 'cough' wordpress)

Well no more! New site.. new BLOG Its entitled "Hits From the Blog"
And lots of new posts already written and in the hopper.. scheduled to go out once a week! (I'm thinking Sundays for now...but Ill see what works)

All new portfolio pieces, and just a plain old new experience!
Load it on mobile book mark it to your phone..  get comfortable... stay a while.

This first piece, is something I'd been thinking about for some time.. and I'm fortunate enough to get to present it to a camera company in the coming weeks.... sooooooo if you LIKE the idea.. make some noise about it so when I do see them... well... its all in the blog.
Check it out!
Hope ya dig it!

#blogging   #focusing   #autofocus   #manualfocus   #canon   #nikon   #photographytips
For those wanting to use manual focus lenses on today's modern DSLR cameras, it's pretty simple really....until one actually tries to focus. Camera manufactures have tiny focus suggestion arrows usually in the corner of the viewfinder OUTSIDE of the actual frame. To say it's distracting is an understatement. The moment you look at the focus symbols you miss what is going on in the frame. I have a solution.....

How good is that film scanner?  A while ago I reviewed Epson's V850 with a range of film types - subsequently one of my images was also scanned  with an Epson V750, Imacon 949 and Heidelberg Tango drum scanner.
I've put together a short comparison of the V850, my old Canon FS4000 and the new scans (100% crops)
