great tips

No matter how skilled you become with off camera flash you always need to be able to fall back gracefully to available light photography!
Evaluate different direct and indirect lighting for better photography

A question of attribution
How do photographers wish to be attributed when their work is "shared"?

I personally do not download and then upload another persons work.
I reshare, which I feel gives proper attribution.

With the recent changes to +1ing a post that's also a great way to "highlight" a persons work, and the person themselves: https://plus.google.com/111667704476323287430/posts/cj8a455T9JB
Those two options are enough for me.

I assume this would be the type of attribution photographers would wish for (or even require), but rather than assuming I though I'd ask you instead.

Do you feel it's acceptable to download an image, upload and credit just with text?
Or is it bad form?

Just a note/suggestion. While some cell phone shots look amazing on a cell phone, they tend to look horrible on a monitor. Is there any way that a "Mobile Shots" category can be made for those? Or maybe a tag of #cellshot or something similar?

Also, I'm noticing some folks posting other people's pictures without giving them credit. If you have the URL of a picture or the actual picture on your hard drive, you can go to images.google.com and click on the camera icon in the search bar. This will allow you to paste the link or upload the photo and search for the actual photographer so that you can give them credit.

Whatever your avenue it's worth it to find a community (on Google+ or elsewhere) where the atmosphere is honest friendly help. Having everyone say, "nice photo" doesn't actually help you be a better photographer.

Check out a couple safe and effective places to explore your passion by growing.

I'm not yet very long part of this community and I do see a lot of interesting pictures. What I do miss is a bit more "discussion" around the photographs them self even in the Community Photo Critique section.

You do get +1's but that doesn't help me getting better, in the sense of how Adam AMerlli said it:

How to Talk to Strangers: 7 Tips For Photographing People

Am I the only one feeling like this ?

As a former Flickr user that has migrated my photos over to Picasa/Google+, one thing I find myself missing sometimes is groups, particularly Flickr's penchant for odd, quirky, single focus groups. Have you all found that communities/tags on Google+ are as effective for creating these collections as Flickr's groups are?

Telling a story is the goal of art. It’s no different in photography. This article builds the knowledge to enable you to use brightness and darkness to tell your story.
