This book only took me two days to read & sadly I have nothing else to read that is new, so I have to wait till New Years for new books! Ug.
WARNING SPOILER ALERT
This book is truly amazing not amazing like "The Book Thief" amazing and not sad enough to start waterworks but just well...beautiful and very inspiring. Here you have this kid who was born with a facial deformity but that never stopped him from living a normal life and although he's been homeschooled till now he's actually pretty smart. August AKA Auggie starts school at Beecher Prep and things don't start so smoothly which was a given since he sees the way people look at him. At first Auggie hates school and wishes that he never had to go but once he starts making friends things enlighten...sort-of, let’s just say August has his ups and downs. In this book you'll get to read all about the changes this boy went through from being a shy little boy to being a funny and pretty popular kid.
"Everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their life because we all overcometh the world."-Auggie

A new short story I wrote.
Here's the summery:
Ray and Betty have been dating for six weeks and tonight they have a date, so why don't you take a trip back to the good old days of the 1920s Harlem Renaissance when people really took a chance to
connect and get to know each other.
Life during the Harlem Renaissance was divine. It couldn’t have happened at a better
time than this because it was just after WW1 and before the great depression.
The Harlem Renaissance was said to have started by the black movement to the
North in which they had more freedom of expression and at this time money was
overflowing; therefore, money for leisure activity such as this could be spent.
This was a time for African Americans to show their true colors and stand bold.
During this era the music just made you want to get up and do the Charleston.
The art was abstract and always told a story of the type of people you might
find in Harlem. Oh and the literature was just the bees knees. So come on
whatcha waiting for come and see how Ray and Betty are doing.

Repost this and save a life. Think...Are your words kind? Are they thoughtful? Are they necessary?
