I'm having trouble installing and running Android Studio. I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit os
At first I was getting virtualization error because VT-X was disabled. Got that resolved but my emulator does nothing. Every example I try to run has problems.
I find that I have multiple jdk and Android sdk installed. I have tried other development systems over the years. Everythjng was installed in NVPACK. Believing my system might be mixing stuff, I decided to uninstall everything and start over.
I Uninstalled everything. I removed all references to NVPACK from environment variables. Then i rdbooted.
I installed java at the root level under Java folder. Then I installed Android Studio at the root level, under the Android folder. It included the SDK. But when I tried to run the studio, it couldn't find the SDK. It began downloading ghetto missing sdk (wasn't really missing) but created NVPACK and installed there again.
1st Q: how do I prevent the install from using NVPACK as an install folder? When the A.S. tried to install missing components, it didn't give me option to select folder. Used NVPACK by default.
2nd Q: is it OK to install java at c:\Java and Android studio at c:\Android or is there a required location or preference.
3rd Q: do I have st set the environment variables or is that only if I plan to use command line?
4th Q: What are all of the envr variables that must be set?
5th Q: after a suss full install, should I expect all of the examples to run without any errors?
