Doraku Sushi at Mary Brickell Village
I cannot get enough of this place! I imagine I have eaten at Doraku Sushi 25 times since I first heard about it. damn, and I have brought so many friends to this restaurant. Mary, Nancy, Nathalie, Pedro, Sheneka, Yanina. Yea, the list is endless. I am also so grateful to have worked with Kevin Aoki, the owner, on a couple Doraku projects.
The very first time I visited Doraku was quite memorable. The year was 2008. I was walking down Lincoln Rd in 2008. There was a lot of construction happening on the west end of the strip mall. Those who are from Miami Beach know that Lincoln Road has not always extended to Alton Road. That intersection, including the stores and restaurants on the west end, are quite new.
Changing the subject back to Doraku, they recently opened a location at downtown Maimi. I have been there ~10 times. Though I am a bit bummed out that they stopped serving kimchi. Not enough demand I suppose. I would pay $100 for another serving of Tron’s kimchi. That dude can whip up some kimchi! The best I have had since living in Korea. Ahh, memories.
Kevin hired XT Inc. to capture interior images of Doraku Sushi at Mary Brickell Village in the financial district of Miami. Fittingly, the district is called Brickell. I spent tireless hours capturing these images. I did everything at night. If I reproduced this project today, these images would not take nearly as long. My current workflow and process has improved dramatically. Hire us again Kevin!
