The Hoonah Native Forest Partnership has been transitioning into skill development to implement future projects. Last week we collaborated with the U.S. Forest Service to do stream restoration on Huna Totem Corporation Land. The 3 days was filled with information on site selection, wood sourcing, and lots of information to be used in the future. Crew installed wood structures in the streams to restore stream function and create habitat for salmon - primarily Coho. It was an amazing 3 days that resulted in 8 new structures to this stream segment.
