52 Hours to go and about 98% Funded, anyone out there who can push us over the edge? These cards were designed for use in RPG or tarot games. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1049685103/the-psychobilly-tarot

A new show idea:  Story Time

Have someone read bedtime stories so that parents can snuggle up to their little ones and listen along.

My favorite kid's book to curl up with my kid is Fortunately the Milk by Gaiman.  I plan on listening to The Graveyard Book audiobook version with him on our next road trip to CO.  Last 30 hour drive it was The Once and Future King.  As it was, we only got 50% through.  YouTube has typically shaky versions of people reading picture books.(for young kids check out What Do You Do With An Idea?)  I do prefer the actual reading, and having my kid read to me when I get tired.   It would be awesome if G&S returned Written By a Kid!

Doctor Who and Firefly's Jewel Staite.  Homemade cosplay outfit.  Convention pictures.  I think I am done for the night!

I was lucky enough to go to the first Doctor Who convention in Cardiff and they had the weeping angels statues there.  They are just as terrifying in real life.

While I get excited about Gencon as warm weather arrives, it pains me to know my state is attempting grand f**kery by passing unconstitutional laws that give vague and wide open opportunities to discriminate.  Let's make a real attempt at Jost's joke.  Btw, the deadpan stare at the end of the joke is just perfect.  If there is any business that refuses service, lets make sure everyone else knows to boycott it.  I do not think this will happen in Indy, as it is the only liberal area in the state (other than Bloomington).  I would worry more about those tiny towns that I pass on the way to Cincy or St Louis. I infer that Pence is doing this to pump up his street cred with the GOP in preparation for a future presidential run.  A dick move, but not a surprising one.  Even the name of the bill, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, is total and purposeful shenanigans.   Politicians love to twist words around like that. (Remember the Patriot Act?)
Colin Jost and Michael Che tackle the week's news, including Hillary Clinton wiping her email server clean and Ted Cruz announcing he’ll be running for president. Olya Povlatsky (Kate McKinnon) discusses the Russian economy. [Season 40, 2015]

This law has been amended as of a day ago to not allow discrimination. GC sent out an update last night.

My son remarks, as he walks away from a half eaten bowl of pasta, "I am done but not full."  He knows that I made cookies earlier.

I respond, "You are not done if you want dessert."

He walks back and tries to get a laugh by doing a perfect fake face plant into his bowl saying, "It was gravity."  (At that moment we were watching SNL on Hulu.  So, of course he was trying to distract us by getting a chuckle.  It worked.)  He followed the joke by saying an aside of, "It was the Spaghetti Face-Time Continuum."

He wins.  Game over.  At six, his ingenuity of punning on science, pasta, and pratfalls just made my night.

Has anyone played Artemis?  I heard it was lots of fun, but not ready to drop money on it without real reviews.

It is a lot of fun but you need the right people to play it with.

Saturday morning at the arcade. Good times.

Saturday morning arcade with the kids. It is rare to find decent prizes. Hazel is rocking the fishing game while Haydon and Theo are thrill yelling in the background somewhere to some emersive pirate game. Good times

My favorite card is a reference from the obscure game Awful Green Things From Outer Space. There is Cthulhu, 2001, duct tape (no explanation or reference needed), Doctor Who, and general Star Trek shenanigans.  One of my sidekicks looked exactly like Chewie in my last match.  So much fandom in one game.

Finally looked through the cards of Star Munchkin after losing twice to my six year old. I love the homages to my favorite shows and games.

I woke up to the sounds of Doctor Who.  My six yr old set it to binge watch this morning while I got pancakes on.  A new episode started as I sat down to eat with him- The Doctor's Wife by Neil Gaiman.
Theo said, "Hey do we know Neil Gaiman?"
"He is a writer we like, remember Fortunately the Milk?"
"Oh yes!  He is awesome.  This is going to be awesome!" he remarked while he shoveled pancakes into his mouth.
This just makes me feel all warm and happy inside.
