Dear Members of Visionary
Recently there has been a major positive development regarding the future of Worth1000. Most people here have been or still are members of Worth. You may be aware of the problems and decline which have arisen since Design Crowd purchased the site and this has led to the creation by Worth members of a brand new home called Dagger Bay. It is still in development but is already open for business and accepting new members.
This affects us greatly here at Visionary. Already we have seen falling numbers in our competitions and challenges partly because Google groups are not really meant as competition sites and were never designed for that purpose. Dagger Bay on the other hand will offer a purpose designed platform which will soon host multiple competitions across many different arenas.
After much careful thought and consideration we, Mick and I, have decided to end the challenges on Visionary and recommend that our members join the competitions at Dagger Bay. This is not goodbye. Visionary will not close down It will still exist as a cosy place to chat, to upload, display and discuss images but there will be no more challenges, Mick and I  will take a back seat and the running of Visionary will revert to the  owners to do as they wish. We will stay as Moderators for the time being in case anyone wants help with any aspect of Visionary or just to assist with anything else. I don’t think that the owners will be returning in the near future as they are now busy with Dagger Bay and Design Crowd.
Many thanks to everybody here for supporting our efforts, we really do appreciate that support and also all the kindness and fun we've had.

Here is a link to Dagger Bay:- just copy and paste

Thanks Kim, we will stay here just to keep it alive and meet friends without having to try to beat them. The kettles always on, so to speak.

A great idea to start combating the plastic problem!

This is what the world needs.
Not just plastic recycling but more people willing to do good and help everyone else.
Please think about sharing this and spreading the word.

Thanks for sharing Sarah. Most people just talk about helping the planet but these people are actually doing something about it.

Google is now giving the Nik Collection of Photography Filters away for free.

Sorry can't find a link to paste from my iPad but Google ' Google Nik collection' and you should be able to find them.

I haven't tried them yet (our internet is slow), you usually have to run them from Photoshop or Lightroom, but I found this answer from Patrick G as  to running them as a standalone product...

It can be used as standalone tools without much trouble of "hack".

(On Windows) You can make shortcuts to the individual .exe files on your desktop and then just drag stacks of images (I use 16-Bit TIFF, see below) onto them.
Warning: Those files will be overwritten with the edited version, so use copies/exports.
The tool then opens the stack (it can be even a 100 images) and you work your way through each of them by going next/prev..

My workflow: I batch-export to 16-bit TIFFs from my RAWs in Canon Photo Professional (DPP) into a subfolder, go there (still in DPP) & select a batch of photos  and drag them onto the desktop-symbol I want (DFine2 first, then Color- or SilverFX etc.) , works flawlessly.
Since it works with shortcuts in general you can set up the "send-to" context menu in Explorer as well, just remember you will edit the original file, there is no save-as.
Have edited thousands of photos that way, just need a bit of care.
I like it even better than using them as a plugin, since running batches works so well.

P.S.: Regarding the "overwrite originals" problem, it works better when used as a plugin for Photoshop Elements (and it's Organizer), the full Photoshop or Lightroom. But some other tools offer "open-in" or "edit-in" as well, if you can edit the external editor manually it should work.

This is the photo that I wanted to submit to Leading Line in Dagger Bay before I found that I couldn't even log on to report the problem.     What happened ???  Please let me back on board.

+Thelma Stewart I heard back from devilmoon (and he said he emailed you).   He said you were not banned, that you had tried logging in with the wrong password too many times (but you could continue trying to use the password by answering a question, or you could use the forgot password option).    Hopefully you are back on by now (fingers crossed).  :)
