This is where I work and paint my miniature art.

I thought it might be fun to show my Art In Wax studio and maybe tell you a little about my art. :-)

I paint using specialist tools and Encaustic wax paints. My husband has adapted some of the tools so I can paint tiny. I also use hot air sometimes too.

"Encaustic" painting is an ancient art form with examples found dating back to Egyptian times.

I am an artist and my "Art In Wax" as I call it is my passion. I have painted in other mediums in the past but the last 6 years since I discovered Encaustic in 2011 I paint in hot wax and painting with hot wax in miniature is challenging but I love a challenge !!!

My art is all over the world now. In 16 countries at the last count.

I have a shop on Etsy and my own website. I sell direct via Facebook and other social media.

I also paint commissions - in my style naturally. All my art is original. I don't do reproductions or copies and I don't sell prints of my work.

Thanks for reading

Hazel.

Today's Project: HO scale stairs for a Clever Models gateman's tower. I made the jig out of scrap chipboard and museum board, with the center strip as wide as the treads, less four thicknesses of cardstock, since the two stringers were two thicknesses each. Glued the individual treads to the stringers and then assembled the two railings, and glued them to the step sub-assembly.

I made the jig longer than needed for this particular model, so I can make longer runs of stairs for other models in the future.

Dollhouse Decorating –Tudor Exteriors
http://dollhousedecoratingblog.com/

The Tudor Period (1485-1603)
Tudor architecture is an outgrowth of Medieval design, where the nobility and upper classes lived in fortified structures: crenelated battlements, moats and all that. The were huge uncomfortably places to live and as peace settle on the land, the manor house came into its own. Please visit my blog for the rest of the story and some great links.
