Do hobbies are idolatry?

An activity that aims at fun is idolatry, therefore the hobbies, which aim at fun, are necessarily idolatry, otherwise they would not be hobbies but duties. The same activity that, instead, is felt as a duty and therefore is not a hobby, is not idolatry, because if it is felt as a duty, we don't condemn ourselves when we approve it, that is our conscience is clean (Romans 14:22-23).
The activity of varying the diet in order to feel physically well can be felt as a duty, because we might think about the negative consequences it would have if we did not vary it; and if it is felt as a duty, then it is not idolatry. If, on the other hand, the same activity has as its purpose that of tasting food to satisfy some fantasy, then it is concupiscence and idolatry of the food. That's the key to understanding if something is right or wrong.
