All Leisure Group which owns cruise brands Swan Hellenic and Voyages of Discovery has ceased trading today.

A downturn in cruises to the Middle East, Africa and the Eastern Med contributed to the groups failure according to Roger Allard, chairman of All Leisure.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines have offered a 25% discount off the cruise fare on ANY 2017/2018/2019 cruise currently on sale. Proof of a cancelled voyage must be provided.

Contact me if affected for latest information or to re-book another cruise / take Fred. Olsen offer up.

Adonia NEW 2017 cruises on general sale tomorrow.

Adonia is the perfect travelling companion to explore the world, and exudes real small-‐ship charm, with a warm and intimate ambience. Her wood panelling, grand staircase, traditional feel and décor are in keeping with the traditions of cruising. Yet being a 21st-century ship, she has beautifully crafted, modern facilities as well.

Summer 2017 Highlights:

Adonia’s summer 2017 programme offers an exciting mix of destinations, new and old. Between June and October next year, she will be visiting Iberia – including the Canary Islands – the western Mediterranean, the British Isles and Iceland.

Some of the exciting ports of call that she will be calling at include:

•A river transit and overnight call at Bordeaux, one of the world’s major wine capitals

•A river transit into Seville, the capital of Andalusia

•A call at Portofino, a pretty fishing village on the Italian Riviera known for its pastel-coloured houses and picturesque harbour

•A maiden call to Puerto Banus near Marbella in Spain, a city awash with super yachts and beautiful beaches

•A visit to the dramatic island of Heimaey off Iceland’s south coast, which is dominated by the two volcanoes Helgafell and Eldfell

If you’re interested in heritage sites, Adonia’s summer 2017 programme also includes a selection of ports with accessible UNESCO sites, including:

•Þingvellir National Park in Iceland (from Reykjavik)

•La Lonja de la Seda de Valencia (from Valencia)

•The remarkable monumental complex in the heart of Seville, the Cathedral, Alcázar and Archivo de Indias (from Seville)

Celebrity Cruises (one of my favourite lines) has just announced two ships for the UK and Ireland market in 2018 for passengers who appreciate a taste of 'modern luxury'.

The 2,800-passenger Celebrity Silhouette, featured in my photos attached will sail out of Southampton, offering itineraries to the Norwegian Fjords, Scandinavia and Russia and the Mediterranean, Canaries and Azores.

Celebrity Silhouette replaces the Celebrity Eclipse, which has spent the last eight years sailing out of Southampton.

Eclipse will now be sailing round trip from Dublin – the first large passenger ship to do so - from late April, offering a mini season until June.

Itineraries will include a 10-night Ireland and Iceland sailing, calling at Belfast; Reykjavik and Akureyri in Iceland; Lerwick/Shetland and Cork. It will also offer an eight-night Norwegian Fjords itinerary.
