The long awaited v3.1 of the Ancient Equip texturepack is here!
NEW! Hidden temple
Challenges.txt will walk you through some of the basics you need to know to find hidden designs for your own temple! This challenge is geared towards players (and YouTubers) who've completed the game and are looking for the next impossible challenge. It won't be quick! You'll have to mine deep, go deeper, and when you return scorching from the nether you'll have thousands of miles to walk in search of a specific biome. (Of course you can find a seed to get you there, but it's more fun if you walk/ride/boat. That's what makes it an adventure!) This update does not yet include the new textures for the four blocks that will tell the story, but it'll take you long enough getting just one in particular you'll want to start looking now! As a bonus for being released a day late, oak planks and cobwebs have been retextured, covering one of my favorite structures in the game, as well as all overworld ores.

Good luck crafter!

Due to unforseen complications, stairs have not yet been retextured to reveal hidden chests. This will be included in the next update.
Also, the bow still has not been updated! I forgot! Drawing the bow back reveals the work of +BMWman1029/ /Bimmer Best's texturepack, which was used to test the filenanes for each stage of drawing the bow. How do I keep forgetting this?!? XD

Coming next update for the Ancient Equip pack: Hidden blueprints visible only to you. They'll be hidden on ore blocks. When built, four blocks inside will tell a story (although the story itself won't be written until later) and to get those blocks survival players will have to travel not only to the nether but far accross the overworld. Each ore block gives a different hint, a key will be included in the pack which will tell you what each block is describing, but not how to build what it depicts. When the temple is done, next update sadly will be unable to tell the story yet, but the one after it should solve that if all goes to plan.

NEXT UPDATE IS COMING WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS IF ALL GOES WELL, all that's left before it's released are the various textures for each ore in the ground.

The Ancient Equip texturepack has been updated, now including all types of armor. In the order they're shown on this post they are: Chain, iron, gold, diamond, and leather (should be the same as your creative inventory). In addition, a few blocks have been added, namely stone, cobble, mossy cobble, grass, stone brick, and carved stone brick (while these can't be seen in the photos below, as they were removed during armor testing, you'll find them available in the official pack), and work has begun on retexturing the bow (still in the early stages due to laziness. Feel free to point and laugh at my failure. XD). Just like the previous release, download instructions are conveniently included in the pack itself, in a text file name "iOS install instructions.txt". Believe me, it's not hard to find. Hope you enjoy!

EDIT:
Before posting this I forgot that some elements of +BMWman1029/ /Bimmer Best's texture pack were used as a template for the bow. This means that if you draw the bow back, you'll find HIS texture for the bow which I haven't replaced yet.

I just had an idea for the Ancient Equip texturepack that'll be great for survival players looking for the next challenge. WARNING: This isn't for ALL survival players, as it's geared toward achievement hunters and YouTubers. The plan is to leave blueprints for a temple on the sides of the various ore blocks, starting with lapis lazuli. When complete, the temple will use all forms of chiseled blocks, meaning you'll have to travel to a mesa biome for red sand and the nether for quartz. When completed, the walls of the temple will reveal a story written in hieroglyphs (and possibly the Standard Galactic Alphabet, which can be translated to English easily with a quick Google search). Other hints to the temple's design may be hidden on mob spawners, or other blocks that can be found in any world (or the nether) with enough game progression.

Playing around with blocks in my texturepack, suddenly had an idea.
"You know what? Imma write the word 'stone' on the top of my grass blocks in memorial of the stonecutter table."

The world may never know....
Btw, that's the standard galactic alphabet, same as enchant tables.

Ancient Equip v1.2 texturepack for iOS
This is a standard 16x16 resolution pack that affects standard tools only, and I'm still working on it. The idea is to make tools look as if they have been passed down for several generations, wood and stone tools are mossy and decomposed, iron tools are rusted, gold tools are broken, and while diamond may not rust or break (irl) the handles and iron mounts used to hold the diamond portion of the tools are degraded just like any other tool in the pack.

Installation instructions for iOS are included in the pack itself in a clearly named text file. iExplorer is required, and free to obtain. No need to register your copy of iExplorer or pay anything, I use demo mode and it works fine.

Also I've included a few Legend of Zelda references. If you'd like to get rid of these, delete the unwanted textures, and read the iOS install text file for how to replace them with the normal textures for those tools (also included in the pack). I won't say what item is the Eye of Truth, but I'll warn you that it's VERY hard to obtain. Hope you like it guys! I'll post again when I've added more tools. Here's the download link.

Thanks to the help of +BMWman1029/ /Bimmer Best, I've been able to start a texturepack of my own (albeit much simpler). The Ancient Equip texturepack currently only has two items: stone and iron swords (as seen on its pack icon), and is standard definition for minecraft. The goal is to retexture all tools specifically to take on the look of an item that has been passed down through the generations, well used and worn by the passage of time. I'll post again when I've completed the pack.
