Very happy to announce the first release candidate of 3.7.10.1, which makes us feature-complete for the first time!

Download the release here => https://goo.gl/52vV3Z <=

The remaining issues are small bug-fixes, extra features, and polish. We will be packaging release candidates until those issues are resolved.

Finally!!! Fixed QT GUI widgets in +GNU Radio for Mac OS X (by using a slightly older version).
It's actually the same version used in MacPorts currently, so there is no loss of functionality.

This is my build of GNU Radio for Mac OS X as an app. It is completely independent of MacPorts for users that prefer to just drag and drop an app into their Applications folder.

This change was the result of quite a number of scraps of time during evenings and weekends, so I hope that users enjoy it :-)

Another pre-release of my +GNU Radio build for Mac OS, without MacPorts.

TL;DR: Everything works except QT, so use Wx for now.

I have personally tested that USRP & RTL-SDR work out of the box. Do not have a hackRF or bladeRF for testing those, but they should work OOTB as well.

I recently finished an alpha release of a build-script I use to build, install, and package +GNU Radio from source for Mac OS X. There might only be a few, but I suspect a number of GNU Radio users out there do not particularly want to install MacPorts on their machines. To give GNU Radio users the simplest interface and lowest barrier to entry on Mac, I decided to throw together a GNURadio.app and .dmg so that they can just drag & drop to install.

Simple & effective.

Any early feedback is welcome, and please do not hesitate to submit an issue.

NB: Although I do agree that bundled libraries are generally bad, it seems to be common practise for distributing Mac OS X applications. Further, since no official package manager exists for Mac OS X, HomeBrew, MacPorts, etc, will never be first-class citizens.

Looking for a weekend project?
Try Gqrx SDR on the Raspberry Pi 2 or 3 :-)

I have been working hard on bringing Gqrx SDR to the Raspberry Pi. Youssef, author of SDR# has also been helping a lot and he has also been optimizing libairspy to run with less CPU on the RPI.

Now it looks like already the forthcoming 2.6 release will be able to run on the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3.
