If anyone is considering buying a new machine, I would highly recommend you do not purchase a Singer.
We bought a new Serger from them back in January. It almost immediately broke and we sent it in for Warranty repair. Here we are in June and we still don't have our machine back!
They keep giving us excuses as to why it's going to take longer.
I wish I had believed all the reviews on Amazon that said this exact thing happened to them.
After spending months playing phone tag and believing their excuses, I escalated my case with their customer service on May 31st, I'm attaching the email thread from that so that you can be warned by how little they seem to care that we've been without our machine for months. Sorry if the language in the email thread is abrasive, I am very annoyed with them.

Made this dress for a woman friend. It was a simple pattern designed by project runway contestant Leann Marshall. The fashion fabric is underlined in white Voile. only real novelty is the "Candy Cane" understitching, at the sweetheart neckline. The lining is baby blue lawn. I put the zipper in with a (hand sewn) prick stitch. Installing the zipper that way was easier than machine sewing. The sewn-in underlining really inhibits wrinkling. I was surprised at how effective it is.
