Some of you may have already received an email from CDWG regarding this event but I wanted to follow-up to make sure this didn't get lost in your inbox. NOTE: This is not a general teacher event but it geared more toward school/district teams of 2-5 leaders -- Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Directors, and Principals would greatly benefit from attending and collaborating.
Lakeland School System is hosting the Tennessee CDWG Leadership Summit that will take place on Thursday, February 2nd at Lakeland Elementary School. This is in partnership with Google for Education. The event will run from 8:00 to 3:30 pm.
This event is aimed at bringing district leaders together to discuss field-tested change and adaptation strategies for bringing technology into classrooms. Our time together will focus on updates and best practices in addition to classroom visits where you will get to see transformation in action.
It doesn't seem like it at first, but getting wifi upgrades, buying and deploying devices and apps are really the EASIEST part of going 1:1. CDWG and Google invite you to come together to discuss field-tested change/adaptation strategies that are necessary when tech becomes ubiquitous in classrooms. Learn best practices in changing classroom culture, effective change management and the mindset needed to evoke change in your schools.
Simply adding technology to a classroom, without addressing the culture of teaching and learning is the surest path to a failed initiative.Ideally, please come with a team of 2-5 leaders -- Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Directors, and Principals would greatly benefit from attending and collaborating.
