It seems we're in a new era of helper libraries and plugins. It probably wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that nearly everyday a new JS plugin or library is released with some clever naming and branding. Some are obviously more helpful than others. Which (lightweight) newcomer has caught your attention or made it already into one of your projects?

Ok, i'll start... I'm digging http://skeljs.org/. It's a clever way to create a responsive site with VERY little overhead. It doesn't offer super opinionated UI like most css frameworks but obviously requires JS which could be an accessiblity issue. Still, for something that may be mobile focused (where js will be a given) then this is a clever alternative to a roll-your-own grid with SASS.
OH, only 20k!

Hey all here's an awesome link shared by +Billy Baker  on setting up a MEAN stack on windows. For those who've attended the last few Meetups you know we've talked a lot about tools like Yeoman so this could make your lives much easier if you use windows.

Next Meeup is a week away!
Invite a friend, it should be fun. http://www.meetup.com/Modern-Web-Development-Techniques/events/192368872/
So here's part two of Work-flow techniques. We'll be putting a lot of what was discussed in our first Meetup into actual practice. The (hoped for) outcome will be a multi platform barebones app(i'll be installing it on my Android right there). It's an extension of the "design in the browser" workflow that will give stake holders you present to something real and "touchable" to base their decisions on.  So come one, come all, to see some truly com...

Starting the Morning off with a link! Here's an article I referenced in last nights meetup at Worcester State. The whole set of links and slides will be posted by end of the week.

I've built several sites using Bootstrap although i'll admit it was 2.3 and not the "mobile first" 3 variant. I've played with Foundation and like their thinking more, it seems to be friendlier to your own designs than bootstraps heavy UI implementations.  The Company I work for settled on Boostrap 2.3 as a requirement about a year ago and the design we received had no idea of bootsrap's implementation and restrictions.

Going through the process of overriding almost every major component made me realize that these aren't always the quickest way to RWD sites. I forgot to mention Skel.js last night but it's another to easily add a grid with no UI forced on you (although it obviously needs JS).

the link is under my last posting. Thanks for coming again and let us know how you fared with foundation.  I can't wait to try their webapp framework when it's done.

This will be the launch meetup for MWDT so part of the evening will be laying down the foundation for future meetings. I'll go over the Meetups mission while also asking for input and desired topics to include down the road. After that we'll go right into modern workflow enhancements that can help any developer, from an entrenched .Net dev chained to VS to an established freelancer with a comfortable set of tools to get the job done. We'll discus...
