Hi all guitar lovers ! Thank you for all your posts in this COMMUNAUTY dedicated to the guitar. We are more than 10,000 members.  THXxxx

Just a quick question : Is someone would be interested to help me to moderate the posts ? because in the background there is a waiting list and it happens all day and I think if i was with 2 or 3 cool guitarists members  this will facilitate the work.
It does not take a lot of time just OK or NOT to validate,
in fact it's a quickly little job the goal is to quickly validate with feeling
if you are interested put a little comment. Have a good guitar day !

If you're a Knopfler fan, listen to the video of #1's song in this post. It's packed with amazing tone . . . seriously.
It doesn't matter if it's a Strat, a Les Paul, or his gorgeous Pensa-Suhr, Mark Knopfler's impeccable tone is always there. It's in his hands, like the man is carved out of rich, resonate mahogany....

1964 Stratocaster that Jimi Hendrix used on his earliest tours with the Jimi Hendrix Experience is expected to fetch £400,000 to £600,000—approximately $890,000—when it goes on the block April 1.

Would you bid $800k+ on anything on April Fool's day?

The guitar, currently owned by Jimi's brother Leon, has a great story which is typically what determines the high value of a vintage artifact.

“He asked me if I had a guitar, and I said no, so he said, ‘Take that one over there,’ pointing to the one in the open case…. I said, ‘I dunno, man,’ or something like that.

“He said, ‘Go ahead and take it. You don’t have to learn to play it now if you don’t want to, but I want you to have it.’

“I’ve always remembered that part, because it made me feel like I couldn’t say no. That was Jimi.”

How fast can YOU play this lick?
Back in 2012 Sergiy Putytov set the Guinness Record for the Fastest Guitarist in the World by playing 27 notes in just one second.

It's kind of like eating contests. It's not really about enjoying the food. If there was a contest for the most tasteful notes in a minute I'd like to see that.

Check out my method for stringing a guitar, not seen anyone else use this method really so would be interested if any of you guys do and what you think. And of course if you're not confident with it yourself then this should be useful for you.

Thanks for the input +Rich Ackerman I shall bear that in mind, although when doing a thorough clean its necessary to take the strings off to access everything. That's interesting that it comes from nylons, I was taught it when I first started playing (electric). The guitar is a lower end Ovation, the Applause range as it just about still says on the headstock, they're such great guitars, especially for the price I guess due to the bowled back it's cheaper to make... Great sounding and a pleasure to play.
+P Grimm I'm glad to hear that it helped, makes it worth while :)

WT. Foster Guitars Tech Tip of the day! March 26, 2015
For many players, there is an relationship between a guitar‘s action and its tone and faster playability. What many players (and techs) do is set up a guitar with the lowest possible action, lower the strings until they buzz, and then raise them up just too where the buzz is bearable.
Consider this for better tone working the other way: raise the strings as high as possible without compromising playability so there is little to no fret buzz. You’ll likely find that sustain will be increased, the guitar will ring true and the tone will be fuller with each note more articulate. WT. Foster Guitars instruments are set up for optimal playability for the best possible tone and sustain. see our setup guide page for the optimal settings and how to properly make these adjustment so no damage is done to your investment.

It was so...freaky to see it disassembled like that. Also, inventors should NEVER be the one to demonstrate the invention. Just sayin...
