Reminder for all Belarus' haters. I do not own the post the author gives me permission to share it
Rant ahead. Warning: Possible foul language.

Okay, I saw something related to Belarus.
Basically bunch of angry, biased, not to mention shalow Russia fangirls flaming in the comments section because of one fanart when Natalya curled up next to Ivan.

That really pisssed me off though.

Please, give me one, just one damn reason why you hate her.

"She terrifies Russia"
"She's an incest obsessed psycho"
"She's a female, she gets into my RusAme or RoChu or USUK or [name ship here] "
"She deserves to die, that's all."

So my expectations were right...

Now, please answer me did you ever read the actual manga?

"No, manga is boring and poorly drawn"
"Manga? That existed?"
"Anime is like quadrillion times better"

Ah.

I will now analyse the responses.

~

"She terrifies Russia" - Yes, it is true, she is a bit scary at times, but he's her brother, someone she believes she can trust. She doesn't want to murder him. She loves him.
Her behaviour was way much exaggerated in the anime's first 4 seasons, like Ukraine's chest area and France's perversion Yes, he is a pervert, but a small, rational one. We forget the fact he's the country of love; those things eventually come naturally. They don't have to though.

"Incest obsessed psycho" - She did mention marriage, but marriage means protection. Marriage means that you unite with someone who you admire, love, trust; who can be your shoulder for crying, and with whom you can share all happy moments of your life.
Well, it was supposed to mean all this, but nowadays, it's more about money, sex and making some use of it when the partner dies.

"She gets in way of my ships" - I've seen this more at Seychelles though, but it is possible.
Inhaling breath
No Hetalia ships will ever be canon. No Hetalia characters are confirmed homosexual, except Sweden, but his feelings aren't forwarded, at least not at this point.
You should respect if someone ships what they want, even though it's being historically inaccurate, a crack ship, or a ship which isn't yaoi/yuri/hetero.
You also need to realise that forcing people in popular ships is WRONG.
Not to mention that this fandom IS NOT based on shipping ONLY.

Someone ships (Nyo!) RusBel even though your OTP is RusAme? LET THEM BE

"She deserves to die" - Are you aware how you sound?
Imagine a Belorussian, minding their business, then you just shout "Belarus is such a bitchy country, I need to see it dead".
Imagine the reaction of the Belorussian. You just insulted them, their family, origin, whole nation and being. Plus, you want them dead.
Doesn't that sound rasistic? Terroristic? Did you ever think about that Belarus is a real country in Eastern Europe, or you're too I'd say American but I don't want to offend anyone. Please don't take it personally to be aware of that?

~

"Manga is boring and poorly drawn" - What a load of rubbish.
That 'boring, poorly drawn' thing is the reason why is your precious Hetalia anime existing.
Mr. Himaruya is just a regular person like us. He couldn't get better in drawing in three months. He had to practice, and look how his art is glorious nowadays.

"Manga? That existed?" - Do I have to explain this one?

"Anime is better" - Okay, we all have opinions, and I admit, TBW and TWT are really great so far, but I just believe you should also read stuff that anime is based on. I mean, in anime, nobody mentioned Bela likes to prank-call Lithuania. Or that she's fan of rock music. I actually like one of the bands there.

~

Belarus didn't have a pleasant past. She learned that woman needs to be tough to survive.

Please, I don't beg you to adore her. I personally admire her.
You are free to dislike her, but please don't irrationally hate her if you don't have strong reasons. Remember she's a country, and by hating a country, you hate the nationality of the persons who live at that country. You hate on Slavs. My brothers, my sisters. I myself am Serbian, but we're both Slavic. Get the point?

Thank you.

( open rp with Mew! )

It was the middle of a horrible period in time. Women, and very few men, getting slaughtered left and right for false accusations, or just to take away a freedom that was rightfully theirs to have. This world was very cruel, and no one knew why neighbor turned against neighbor for such petty things. These were the Salem Witch Trials. A time where "witches" were convicted, tested, and charged. Most of the time, the women weren't witches at all, and were hanged because of greedy, envious souls, who only wished the unwanted being out of their miserable life. Some men were convicted too, but it was on a very little scale. Though some of the women were witches, most of them, to avoid an awful ending to their traditions, fled elsewhere, so they could continue their harmless practice others have deemed evil

I was unfortunately part of this horrible era of time. In human years, i could've  been no less than maybe two or three years of age, a bit young for a little girl to be struggling to eat, struggling to live, struggling to find love from a family who wanted me..and who did not call me a freak. I, as most of the townsfolk would say, was a witch, but who would kill a child? They knew someone was bound to rat me out to the military for me to be burned, crushed, drowned, or tortured. They said i was immortal. They said i used magic to keep myself so young. They said that maybe a fellow witch helped me stay this young. But as with every argumnt, there is a flaw. How could I have asked a witch to keep me young when i barely knew how to talk..? As to my other problem, i could not speak English well, though it was odd for my age. But back to the point of the story

I was a lonely child, looking no more than 2 or 3, but again this feature was odd. I did not know it, but i was a special kind of immortal, one who only dies with the land, and is either gone forever or reborn as a new land, if they're lucky. I thought as myself as only a human, for i have grown up with them for a long time...yet, they don't seem to want me around. Every family seems to be afraid when they grow old and blame me for being "immortal". What does that word even mean? A soft cry escaped me when a wooden spoon whacked me hard across the back for the millionth time. I had taken some of what was left of the bread. Food was scarce, and everyone was hungry. They had called me crazy when i started seeing a white bunny flying around the room and take fond of me, and when i saw fairies dancing in the night. I cried as they sent me out to buy more bread for the family. So i set out, but i had a feeling i would go hungry again this night...
