The FASU Games begun yesterday with table tennis and chess at the Auckland Park at the APB Campus of University of Johannesburg.
The team Legon table tennis team which were represented by two ladies, Cynthia Kwabi and Lawrencia Dei put up an amazing performance to win silver in the women's team event.
Our princesses, despite the unfamiliar weather conditions rose above all odds to register the first medal for University of Ghana at the ongoing games. They promise to increase the tally of medals in their upcoming event in the women singles and doubles which is to come off today at the same venue.
Tswane University of Technology in South Africa took the gold medal while Kenyatta University from Kenya had the bronze to themselves.
Nana Yaw Owusu Ansah also put up a splendid performance at the chess championship which had several highly rated players across Africa. He won all his games at the first stage which has enabled him to advance to the next stage to is to take off today. He beat the highly rated 1,967 University of Johannesburg giant, Lekgau Molupi to amaze even competition officials.
He, with his team promises to also brighten in the corner where they are, to lift the flag of UG High
