4 ways to restore your faith when everything is going wrong
By: Mayra Bitsko

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 KJV

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Giving up seems to be the right thing to do when everything in life is going wrong. But giving up on our faith will take away the chances we have for more hopeful and shiner days.

Faith is easy to lose when everything is going wrong. When not one thing is going as planned, it may seem the only thing left to do is give up. Giving up is definitely the easy way out, but it’s not the route you imagined taking. Instead of giving up on everything including your faith, consider restoring your faith, which is a better path for you and your family.

Several years ago, I came face to face with many bumps in the road within a short period of time. I thought I would never catch a break. I broke down to the point that the faith I once held on to no longer existed. It took loving family members to talk to me and help me get though the rough times. It was embarrassing to admit I had given up on my faith. But, if I didn’t talk to my trusted family members or pray to my God, I would have neglected my faith all together.

Nothing in life is as easy as we hope. Many families have to struggle every day just to make ends meet. However, if we hold on to our faith, chances are we will see better days. It may take time, but better days will come. If you already threw in the towel, try restoring the faith you once believed in. With faith, all things are possible.

Here are a few ways to restore your faith.

I. Distraction

Even though distractions are temporary, focusing your attention on something else can help keep your mind off your troubles. I usually watch comedy movies, go for long walks, exercise or engage in family activities. If you find distractions, you will begin to see the problems in a different perspective. You will slowly begin to regain your faith.

II. Pray

Ask your God to give you the strength and courage you need to comfort and resolve your issues. Ask your family, husband and your children to join you in prayer.

III. Write

It could be nerve-wracking writing down the issues that you are facing. It’s hard enough knowing the issues exist and it is harder to write them down on paper. However, writing is a great outlet to your troubles. Make a list of each thing that is troubling you or your family. Try to give yourself enough time between writing the list and reviewing it. Perhaps return to the list a few weeks later. As difficult as it could to read over the list, review each issue and create possible solutions.

IV. Talk

Do not fear to discuss your problems with trusted family members. Families are our support system. They are in our lives to give us courage and extend a helping hand. Family may not have all the answers, but they can give you that sense of faith you need back in your life. My family is the first place I turn to when times get a little rough.

When you feel the need to give up on everything — including your faith — remember your God is not giving up on you. Hold on to your faith. Brighter days are ahead.

Psalms 71:1-5 KJV

In thee, O Lord , do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For thou art my hope, O Lord God : thou art my trust from my youth.

If you have walked away from the LORD
There is still hope.
He is waiting for you to return to HIM.
While you still have time.

My son posted this on my Facebook wall along with his birthday greetings to me this morning. Instead of using the normal birthday card..he used this instead and this reminded me of GOD'S promise that even to our old age HE will carry us through. What a comfort to know that we serve a GOD who cares so much for us.

Isaiah 46:4

And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Thank You LORD JESUS for everything that you have blessed my life with. You're here all along to see me through in every situation that i'm in.
Glory and Honor to YOU MY LORD AND SAVIOUR!
