The Chili Fire Department had four recruit firefighters graduate tonight from New York State Firefighter 1 held at the Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility. Congratulations to Firefighters Alexei Chatterton, Lindsey Davis, Blake Herring, and Austin Saur for your hard work and dedication to the department and your community.

The Chili Fire Department opened their doors at Company #1 for their annual Open House that kicks off Fire Prevention month. Members of the community were able to come up and learn about fire safety, smoke and CO detectors, Gates-Chili School District Safety Bus, and go through and learn about the various fire trucks that were out on display. Activities for the kids also included a bounce house, coloring contest, and material on Exit Drills in the Home. The event concluded with a live fire demonstration showing how fire progresses in a room and how smoke detectors work.

The members of the Chili Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary cooked and served their annual appreciation dinner to the members of the Chili Fire Department last night before their monthly General Body meeting. Firefighters enjoyed a wonderful home cooked meal. A great thank you to all our wonderful Ladies Auxiliary members for all their hard work!!

Quint 4310 from the Chili Fire Department went to Churchville-Chili Schools this evening to participate at the Celebrate Churchville Chili event along Engine 424 from the Churchville Fire Department. A bunch of ping-pong balls were dropped from the bucket of 4310 for the students to grab for various prizes.

Two college students received scholarships from the Chili Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. The Ladies Auxiliary to the Chili Fire Department sponsors a scholarship fund for the purpose of encouraging lifelong learning and promote volunteerism.

The Chili Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 3:30PM this afternoon for a vehicle on fire on Union St. over I-490. Embers from the fire were blowing and started catching grass on fire in the meridian of I-490. Engines 4312, 4322, and 4332 responded along with an Engine from Churchville Fire.

Explorer Chief TJ May and Past Explorer Chief Austin Saur received the 2017 Young Citizen of the Year Awards from Monroe County tonight for their dedication to public safety within Monroe County and the Chili Fire Department. The Chili Fire Department is blessed to have so many young adults in their Explorer Post ranks that help keep the spirit of volunteerism alive. Congratulations to our two Explorers recognized this year, as well as to all our Explorers at Chili Fire Department.

It may have been a rainy morning but it was still a good time to have a parade and pay tribute to the brave men and women that fought for our Country and paid the ultimate price.

This evening the Monroe County Firefighter 1 Bootcamp Class #79 graduation was held at the Monroe Community College Auditorium. In this class the Chili Fire Department recognized four of its firefighters Kyle DaVia, Matt Wheeler, Cory Raymer and Sarina Moneta. They all received their certificates of accomplishment. NICE JOB!!!!
