An image from the movie, "Troy" starring Brad Pitt as Achilles, the greatest of the Homeric fighters of the Trojan War.

War during the Bronze Age was different than hoplite warfare. For example, chariots were used to transport prominent warriors to the battlefield. It is accurately portrayed in this scene with the legendary Greek hero.

An amazing statue at Hyde Park in London of one of the great Homeric heroes, Achilles.

Hand clutching the sword while fending off the enemy with his shield...it is a very powerful image of the Greek warrior whose only vulnerability was his heel.

Who else to play the Spartan queen, Helen who was the face that launched a 1,000 ships than the stunningly beautiful Greek actress, Irene Papas, in the 1971 film, "The Trojan Women."

Based on the play which was written in 415 BC by the ancient Greek tragedian, Euripides , the four main characters were, Hecuba, Queen of the Trojans; Andromache, widow of Hector; Cassandra, Hecuba's daughter and Helen of Sparta.

The image is of Achilles, portrayed by Brad Pitt after he has avenged the death of his friend Patroclus by killing the Trojan prince, Hector.

It was following the death of Hector that Homer's, the "Iliad" ended, however, what movie about the Trojan War could end without the Trojan Horse?
