Adelaide Motorsport Festival And Ferrari

Ferrari was thrilled to be in the Australian city of Adelaide recently to celebrate our longstanding history with both the city and motorsport at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

This year Ferrari Formula One legend from the 1980’s, Stefan Johansson, was back at the wheel in the city where he raced at the Adelaide Grand Prix many decades ago. The Swedish born Johansson competed in 79 F1 races from 1983 to 1991.

This year he flew in to pilot a brand-new Ferrari 488 Spider in the Classic Adelaide Rally, driving the car from the start line at the Victoria Park track where he first turned a tyre on the South Australian tarmac some 31 years ago.

From there, Johansson’s 488 Spider led a pack of more than ten Ferrari vehicles in the rally, travelling through the city and into the spectacular hills of Adelaide.

Several classic and modern Ferrari examples also took part, including the limited edition F12tdf, the new 488 GTB, the acclaimed 458 Italia and 458 Speciale, alongside classics such as the 308 GTB.

Hexagon Classics is thrilled to offer for sale two extremely rare, low-mileage open top Ferraris, both of which represent exceptional examples of appreciating modern classics.

The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is a limited-edition roadster version of the 478bhp 5.5-litre V12-engined 550 Maranello and was first revealed at the Paris Motor Show in 2000. With just 448 examples rolling off the production line, it’s one of the rarest open top Ferraris of the last twenty years.

The model on sale at Hexagon has just 1,625 miles on the clock and comes in spectacular Giallo Fly yellow paint with Nero leather inside. It also has the desirable six-speed manual gearbox featuring the famous Ferrari open metal gate.

Priced at £395,000, this left-hand-drive car is one of the best in the world. First supplied by Japanese dealer Cornes & Co, it has been meticulously looked after, coming with the original handbook and spare keys and, of course, the temporary soft top, which can only be used at up to 70mph.

When the 550 Maranello was replaced by the faster, more powerful 508bhp 5.7-litre V12-engined 575M in 2002, Ferrari took the opportunity to offer another limited run version – and one with a highly innovative roof too.

Super GT – Difficult race for the Ferrari of LM Corsa

Fifth event of the Japanese Super GT championship at the Fuji circuit and very difficult race for the only Ferrari in the field, car number 51 of LM Corsa.

Car number 51 could do no better than 11th place at the finish line.
Next event. The Nissan of the Calsonic Impul team driven by Hironobu Yasuda and J.P.L. De Oliveira won the overall race.
