Winter plum flowers bloom in a thousand-year old Buddhist Linyang Temple in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, built during the 10th century.

Large ornamental trees are the common choice for traditional Chinese courtyard for the following benefits:

1) Add colours to a greyish paved courtyard;
2) Reflect seasonal change;
3) Maximise the open spaces for outdoor daily activities;
4) Allow the sun penetration inside the courtyard in winter while provide the shade during summer.

While Dunhuang is known for its brilliant murals, Cloud Hill and Dragon Gate for their magnificent stone carvings, Wheat Pile is celebrated for its splendid clay statues that are amounted to over 10,000.
