Slow Cooker Chipotle Chili is smoky and delicious, perfect for Game Day or any busy night of the week. I love smoky flavors, perhaps because I yearn for warmer summer days with the smokiness of grilling. Winters are long here in Connecticut so I’m always holding onto anything that reminds me of summertime. These are the Best Italian Meatballs – seriously. I’ve been making these meatballs for a cancer patient the last couple of weeks, and they are the most requested item. There’s nothing magical about the recipe at first glance, but it works incredibly well and the end result is tender, moist meatballs in a delicious tomato sauce.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Salad makes a delicious sandwich filling or salad topper for lunch. It’s also a great way to use up leftover roast chicken. I first had Buffalo chicken wings when I was in college at the University of Rochester. I was hooked on them after my first bite, and ordered the hottest possible wings. I think “nuclear” wings were the hottest I was able to stand, followed by lots of water.

Sous Vide Octopus Spanish Tapas is very tender, and simply seasoned with garlic and smoked paprika for the perfect tapas. I’m a bit obsessed with octopus – how to prepare it so it is super tender. I’ve read articles that suggest many different ways to cook octopus until tender. These methods include beating the octopus against rocks until tender, freezing octopus, adding vinegar when cooking, and adding a wine cork to the braising liquid. Some people slow cook octopus, others pressure cook it.
