It is known that evil deeds and sins are passed down from father to son, generation after generation. The malignant disposition of our ancestors in some way defines us, it defines the bloodline. Thus it is said that one must be cleansed and worthy of others, else our own darkness will go down to our kin.

Cursed is the kin slayer as going against your own blood is the foulest of mistakes. This was Hernan Dicordo’s mistake. He was evil, there’s no doubt there, but very few know how many of his close relatives were either killed by him or ordered killed. He felt no remorse and did all this to appropriate lands and assets that belonged to others. He was really careful and though there were suspicions, mostly everyone though the family was cursed with misfortune.
Take a look at this oldschool style map about a cursed family crypts.

When strange plague struck the Archons of the Temple of Ilunezor the Bronze Collared, their curative magics failed them but their auguries showed of a place south of the temple where a small underground spring and stream was found to have the cure for their illness.

Over the years afterwards, the location of the curative underground spring was dug out and stairs were added down into the lower cave and then up to the small cave where the spring originated.

With the destruction of the temple, the Archon's Climb became known instead as the Restless Hollow - named either after the burbling stream down below or according to some tales after the lone guardian of the cave who has lived among the mushrooms for so long that he now looks like a massive collection of fungus wandering the cave aimlessly.

No one would care either way, except that the sage in town will tell you the only way to truly break the curse that the party rogue is under is to bathe him in the spring waters of the Restless Hollow...

As always my isometric works, I have a hard time making unusually shaped areas feel like they exist on the same plane and perspective as the rest. In this case the pool chamber on the upper left feels like it is lifted up and out of the plane of the rest of the structure.

At the east end of the city of Dolem’s Spire, rough cliff faces look down on the grey sea below. While this part of the city was built up in recent years from a few old shacks and homes, most residents aren’t aware that those old buildings served their own purpose as the secret access to a small sea cave below that has been used for smuggling and piracy since the foundation of the city itself (and possibly before that).

The cave is known as Jagged Reef Refuge and is used to unload contraband from ships waiting in the bay overnight before they dock in the city proper. Inside the sea cave are a few wooden jetties where ship’s boats can unload slaves, infiltrators and controlled merchandise. Some is stored in the caves and structures ahead and to the left, and what can be smuggled into town immediately (like furtive passengers) head through a doorway in the right wall where stairs ascend to a slightly run-down pottery merchant’s store and warehouse at the surface.

Jagged Reef Refuge was drawn based on a request from Michael Carmody, one of the awesome patrons who support my work through the Patreon campaign. I occasionally ask patrons at the $2.50 level and above for suggestions for upcoming map designs like this one. It is made available for your free commercial or personal use from the blog and can be downloaded here: https://rpgcharacters.wordpress.com/2017/05/02/jagged-reef-refuge/
