Billy amongst the Jacarandas

Spring in Sydney is Jacaranda time, and the city is ablaze with colour. They prefer tropical or warm temperate climates though and in our travels around the highlands we haven't seen any.

Watching

The view from up the hill behind the house is lovely, even on a cool winter's day (it was about 4 degrees when I took this and very pleasant in the sunshine) but for Billy the focus is purely on the wildlife. Mostly that's a plague of rabbits, but the drought has driven roos close to the house looking for food, and even the wombats are out and about when we least expect them.

Sworn Enemy

Apparently this was an alien weapon of mass disruption, and even as a puppy Billy fought it fiercely.

Shaking Down

Stick retrieved, the next job is to dry off. If shaking doesn't do the job, then rolling in the sand is the next option :)

Who said "haircut"?

Billy is back to normal now, except for a still bald leg. All the messing around with surgery and recovery means he's seriously overdue for a haircut though :)

Bouncing back

It's amazing how resilient dogs can be, Billy is quickly getting back to his usual self. As the tumour was removed from the back of the leg, it's not so easy for him to get to so the cone of shame came off quite quickly :) That's one skinny little leg though!

Does this colour suit me?

Billy post surgery this week, he had a tumour removed from his front leg but still takes the time to see off the magpies when they come visiting.

White dogs can jump

Before Bennie (https://plus.google.com/collection/MX8cQE) arrived to relieve Billy, he relentlessly pursued alien interlopers and kept the world safe. While they often took refuge in trees, that was no barrier to a fearless dog with short legs.
