SPAD XIII 3D model update: Whew! that was a bit complex to unwrap. UV Mapping the middle fuselage section. There were a lot of nooks and crannies with this particular piece, fortunately with Eddie Rickenbacker's paint scheme, the piece is mostly a single color with exception of the camouflage that's continuing from the aft fuselage. Now, it's time to export the UV map and texture in Photoshop. The textures on this model are 4K in the areas that are well seen.

Timelapse of my sculpting the leather flange that is above the pilot, on the upper wing of the SPAD XIII that I'm modeling. I'm using Cinema 4D r17 sculpting tools for this.

I do the same thing when I'm working in 3D, but I have the smaller Space Navigator.

A MUST for 3D modeling. I have used one for years working in Cinema 4D. I don't use a mouse for drawing/painting digitally (I use a Wacom digital tablet setup), and I don't use manual viewing controls built into the software for getting around my 3D scenes. I use a 3DConnexion Space Navigator. For more info, see: http://www.3dconnexion.com/products/spacemouse/spacenavigator.html

Playing around with "Jet Strike" I really love this pack for Element 3D for Adobe After Effects - superb rendering too. The nice thing is that I don't have to do a ton of rendering with it's all real time rendering. This is a great tool for visualization. Though it only has limited number of models, I can find it very useful. I'm planning on producing more models anyway and working to incorporate my models into Element 3D https://www.videocopilot.net/products/3d/jetstrike/

Throwback Thursday - these are a few of my past 3D models that I worked on and still have to finish. Daily life has it's priorites though, and these took a back seat - eventually these are projects I will finish, but first, I'll finish the SPAD XIII.

My very first 3D model build. Made way back when in the early 1990's with Moray and Povray.

Come a long way from this, LOL!
