Samsung Galaxy S8 (Verizon/unlocked) currently going for under $700 in US
If you are planning to purchase Samsung's latest flagship (the Galaxy S8), you'll be glad to know that the device is currently available at discounted rates in the country. Specifically, the Verizon/unlocked variant is currently going for under $700 - $699.99 to be precise.
eBay retailer alldayzip (a Top Rated Plus retailer) is offering the handset at that price. If you compare, that's a discount of $56 given that Verizon is officially selling the phone for $756.
As of writing, the listing says more than 91% of the stock has been sold, and only Midnight Black color option is available (rest all are out of stock). So, those interested in availing the deal may have to act really fast.

Samsung Creates In-Traffic Reply App to Prevent Distracted Driving
In recent years, distracted drivers – motorists who divert their attention from the road, usually to talk or text on the phone – have become one of the leading causes of road accidents. In response to this growing concern, Samsung Electronics Benelux B.V. has created a new app called In-Traffic Reply, which aims to help drivers reply to messages without taking their focus off the road.
A recent PanelWizard* study found that approximately one third of Dutch drivers occasionally use hand-held smartphones while driving a car or riding a bike. Many of the respondents claim that their reason for doing so is related to the social pressure to respond to calls and messages quickly.
The In-Traffic Reply app reduces this pressure by sending automated responses to calls and messages while the owner of the phone is on the road. The app will automatically activate when it detects the user is riding a bike or driving a car through the smartphone’s sensors such as its GPS. Users can choose to send the default reply (“I’m driving, so I cannot answer at the moment.”), a fun, animated response, or their own customized pre-set message.
In-Traffic Reply is currently in beta, and has already attracted the attention of hundreds of interested users. The full version of the app will launch in mid May and will be available in the Google Play Store.

Samsung’s Third Tizen .NET Developer Preview Introduces New Visual Studio Tools
Samsung Electronics today released the third preview of the Tizen .NET application framework, featuring improved Visual Studio Tools for developing Tizen applications.
Since announcing its collaboration with Microsoft on .NET open-source projects such as .NET Core and Xamarin.Forms last November, Samsung has steadily released preview versions of Tizen .NET to help developers build better apps.
The second preview brought support for TV application development, to go along with the mobile support introduced in the first, and improved Visual Studio Tools for Tizen with several new features, including a Project Wizard, Manifest Editor, Emulator Manager, Emulator Control Panel and Certificate Manager.
The third preview allows you to create self-contained applications that will run on Tizen devices without pre-installed .NET runtime. Visual Studio Tools for Tizen also features two new tools: Log Viewer and Device Manager. The former helps developers debug their application by capturing all the events logged by the platform and the application; the latter provides information about connected Tizen devices and emulators for application debugging, and improves tools that were introduced in previous previews.
Tizen platform-specific APIs released with the third preview include several new packages, many of which – Camera, Wave Player, Tone Player, Media Streaming and Screen Mirroring, to name a few – focus on multimedia. Developers can also access platform-specific features not covered by the .NET, such as Email and Messages, Bluetooth, Voice Control, Input Method, Calendar Service and FIDO (Fast IDentity Online).
In addition, Tizen.Xamarin.Forms.Extension allows developers to further enhance their applications with rich components such as buttons, popups, grids and calendar views.
The public milestone 1 will follow the third preview soon. You can share your experience with .NET, Xamarin.Forms and Tizen developers, and distribute your applications to Samsung devices powered by Tizen .NET.

Why QLED Matters for 4K HDR Content
If you enjoy browsing the newest TVs when visiting your local big box store or are among the millions who subscribe to streaming movie and TV services, it’s very likely you’ve come across the term 4K HDR by now.
As definitions, 4K refers to a screen resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, or four times the level of full high definition (Full HD) at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. HDR, which stands for high dynamic range, is a recently introduced technology that dramatically enhances contrast ratio (or how bright and dark a TV can get) as well as a TV’s ability to express many more brilliant colors to display content perfectly true-to-the-source. In fact, with the significant difference that HDR provides, many experts have taken to calling it the ‘future of TV’.
While both 4K and HDR are advancements in their own rights, combined together, 4K HDR content takes picture quality to a whole new level and is simply jaw dropping in terms of the utter realism, brilliant color, and immersive experience it provides. With no hyperbole intended, 4K HDR delivers a TV viewing experience which simply hasn’t been seen before.
Given the expectations for how 4K HDR will re-shape the industry, major content services like Amazon, Netflix, YouTube and others are already providing content in 4K HDR, with the number of titles expanding daily. New 4K HDR TVs and HDR media players are also being introduced to the market at a rapid pace...
