Not discussed in the article is the fact that with the expansion of data collected by autonomous and communicating vehicles the understanding of driver errors as well the as iterative improvements in the self-driving software will provide further exponential improvements to safety.

Of course the actual designs will be varying but the vision is a good one. People will always want some autonomy and privacy when traveling so private space is important (at least for many of us) -else (like busing it will not be utilized by the majority...

Check out this awesome level 4 autonomous vehicle... pretty nice! I drove across Canada last summer... yeah, over 14,000 km... I sure would have liked to be in something like this!

I like the idea of scaled pricing based on batteries and drive distance. Thinking longer term as tech improves new "better" batteries could be added as well.

Despite the news around a couple of accidents (Uber & a Tesla) autonomous driving continues to improve. I have still yet to experience it but I am a big fan!!
