Mrs. Mallard preening while her mate swims close by. Every spring a pair of mallards comes and visit in our pond. This pair was skittish at first but now will allow me to come down and watch them and photograph them.

Inquisitive, a red tail hawk in our locust tree. He is about 10 feet off the house and seems to be looking at some potential prey further up in the tree.

He just finished breakfast on the garden fence. He dug a mole out of the lawn and devoured it. I found a clump of soil and grass he left on the fence right where he was eating. I also observed him cleaning his beak by rubbing it on the fence rail.
