Really surprised to see this (apparently?) sporting Note 7 guts. Should be a very smooth Android performer and a big jump over the aging Tab S2. It's just a shame that Samsung didn't seem to see a market for an 8" version this time -- the Tab S2 8.0 was a pretty cool device.

Exclusive no more. I've been a pretttttty harsh critic of this move, so this turning out to be a timed exclusive is great news. I think that's a middle ground most can be comfortable with, that allows Google to sell it's phones, yet continue contributing it's best features to Android.

Samsung continues to improve with every iteration of it's flavor of Android.

Tiny bezels, or none at all, are great, but manufacturers need to start investing in better software for rejecting accidental touches, or these things are going to potentially become a pain in the ass to use.
I'm especially worried about designs like the Note 7 and rumored Galaxy S8, that feature wraparound screens and almost no edges.

I would never use this, but the naming is genuinely hilarious.

I was just talking about this over on iOS, and it seems that sizes are creeping up on Android as well. I'm not as fatalist, I think you can get by on 32GB, but it may be that it's well worth an extra hundred for peace of mind. Nobody likes the panicky feeling when the storage counter is getting lower than you feel comfortable with.

Man. Shoddy design here. If Samsung hadn't been so obsessed with high battery capacity in the smallest possible design, they would have saved themselves and customers a lot of grief. I really didn't think this would come down to an 'eyes bigger than your stomach' kind of deal, but here we are. It was that simple.

The circular Chrome, Messenger, and Google+ app icons look so good. Like, if we could make this not just a Pixel thing, but an Android-wide thing? That would be awesome.
The current cacophony of different shapes and sizes is more than a little visually annoying to look at.

It kind of seems that Google has drawn a line in the sand, with the Pixel, that will alter the Android phone landscape.
I for one, will be thinking twice about picking up any non-Google smartphone next year, now that I know the best things, like Google Assistant and, to less of an extent, the new Pixel launcher, are ending up only on Pixel.
I don't buy Samsung, or LG, or whatever, phones for their alright built-in software. I buy them to replace everything on them with excellent Google software. If there's now pieces missing from that, and no doubt that these manufacturers will endeavor to replace something like Assistant with their own, rather uninspiring stuff, that's no longer a valid path for me.

This is probably the only company I've seen at this titanic scale, that's family run. Samsung is sort of a Mom-and-Pop business, and that's bizarre.
