Google adds PayPal support for more Google Apps, no login needed
PayPal has been available as a payment option for Google Play Store for quite some time. Now, both companies have decided to take their business little further and now we can use PayPal as a payment option on all Google services such as Gmail, YouTube, and also peer-to-peer payments.
The best part of this new arrangement is that we only need to sign in once and will never need to log in again (unless you choose to log out). When you add PayPal to your Google Play account, it will automatically add as a payment option for all other Google services.

Google introduces YouTube Music - a music streaming service; YouTube Red becomes YouTube Premium
Google is revamping YouTube's subscription model by introducing YouTube Music premium subscription and replacing YouTube Red with $12 per month YouTube Premium.
Since its launch two years ago, YouTube Red has been bundled with Google Play Music for a $10 per month fee, which gives you ad-free videos and some bonus features. Then you have YouTube Music, which is more oriented towards music videos and requires a YouTube Red subscription. Google Play Music is purely music-based, and functions as both a streaming service (like Spotify) and a storage location for your vast collection of MP3s.
Starting next week Google has decided to revamp the Red subscription. As of May 22nd, it will become YouTube Premium which is a $2 add-on above the new YouTube Music Premium subscription. It brings all of the access to original series and movies plus access to YouTube that is ad-free with background play and downloads.

Apple and Samsung face off in court over 'design patents' that made iPhone 'revolutionary'
The legal battle between Samsung and Apple has not ended and both companies are officially back in the courtroom this month to continue their seven years and running debate over iPhone design patents.
Previously, a district court under Judge Lucy Koh has found Samsung to have infringed upon a few of Apple's key design patents for the iPhone. Samsung has argued that some patents were invalid.
However, Apple has been trying to maximize the damages it could gain from its 2011 suit, saying that the whole is greater than just the sum of its parts. At one point, the Supreme Court was involved, but all it did was toss the case back to district court for damages.
Now as the case is reopened, Apple wants Samsung to pay more than $1 billion for its infringement. In opening arguments for a damages phase of the patent suit, Apple attorney Bill Lee argued that Samsung already has been found to infringe three design patents, while covering merely cosmetic aspects of iPhones, are in fact key to making the phones look good and work well.

Ookla Speedtest shows Samsung Galaxy S9 Obliterates iPhone X in LTE Speed Tests
According to a recent report from Ookla Speedtest says the LTE download speeds on Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are up to 42% faster than competing handsets. Specifically, Ookla’s numbers show that the Galaxy S9 beats the iPhone X’s download speed by 37 percent. The latest Galaxy phones are 17 percent faster than Google’s Pixel 2.
The report was based on speed tests conducted from February to April of this year on major 4G LTE networks and compiled along weighted averages to take out the outliers.
Samsung credits its edge in download speeds to a Category 18 downlink LTE modem. Specifically, the Galaxy S9 uses Qualcomm’s X20 modem, which is capable of supporting download speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. The X16 modem in the iPhone X we used in our testing has a 1 Gbps cap.

LG will soon launch a new Wear OS smartwatch
According to a recent report, a new Wear OS smartwatch from LG has been spotted in the FCC. The model number of this device is LM-W315, and the FCC E-Label shows that it is running Wear OS. In case you were wondering, the past couple of LG Wear OS watches held model numbers of W280 (Watch Sport) and W270 (Watch Style). The model number of W315 certainly falls in line as being their next device.
Interestingly, the FCC filing has revealed that LG-made Wear OS device comes with unique features. For one, this is not using the usual Android Wear interface. The usual vertical app list has been replaced by a Samsung Gear-style circular carousel with the name of the selected app front and center.
