Rooster

This is the best rooster photo I have ever taken. It's also the only rooster photo I have ever taken. Love how you can see how shallow the depth of field is on this shot. If you look at the grass its just a thin slice of focus in the whole image. This rooster also functioned as a spectacular alarm while I was away. Personally I could have settled just for the sound of the ocean.

Gone Fishing...
Seal at the wharf in Marlo, Victoria, Australia.

I think he looks like a Wilbur, what do you think? This seal just hangs out at the wharf eating the left overs from the fisherman. It's a lazy old life and he seems to love it.

Gift from above
New holland honey eater in a Gymea Lily.

It's been a while since I have shared a wildlife shot. This one was taken some time ago. Now that it's warming up a little I look forward to getting out and getting more shots like this. I can still remember how quick these birds were and difficult to capture. This was the luckiest shot, the sun was setting and looked epic on this massive Gymea Lily. I framed up the shot and to my delight this little honey eater landed perfectly in frame :)

Resident Wombat
Newnes, New South Wales, Australia

I haven't posted an animal pic for a while, meet the Newnes Hotel resident wombat. I had never seen a wombat in the wild before heading to Newnes in the Wolgan Valley. They are so tame here. He is a chunky little fella. I took this one at f18 with a long focal length to try and capture the hotel nicely in the background.. Enjoy.

Natural Aerobatics

Such amazing spread of feathers on this Currawong. This guy can fly like a master. I thew up a little bit of food, and he caught it mid air perfectly. I'm not sure if I like this shot. I would be interested to hear what you all think. Perhaps its just because its such a common bird, maybe if it were a bird of paradise it would be different  ;)
