Hello all,

All the best for 2017 hope it will be a very prosperous new year!

I was hoping to share some black and white images selected from 2016 AAD edited using the latest version of Capture One. Time has caught up with me and now I'm sitting in Kenya for business.

It seems like we would just need to have to do with a B&W version of a color images done using Snapseed on the iPad ;))

Traveling again, this time to a chilly Budapest.

Counted at least 2 Antanov 2's as we left the airport :)) and I just so happen to have an unshared image of the aircraft in question.

Hello,

Quite possibly one of my favorites from our recent trip to RAF Hendon.

Absolutely hilarious with excitement at the moment!

Recently I tested the X-T2 combined with the 100-400mm lens during a large airshow called African Aerospace and Defense (AAD) here in South Africa.

I wrote a piece for both the International Society of Aviation Photography and Fujifilm locally.

Fujifilm has just published the article on their website!!

Another image from our recent visit to RAF Hendon Museum whilst in London.

Got to love that Fujifilm X-T10 :)

BTW if you haven't heard yet I was fortunate to test the new Fujifilm X-T2 and the Fujinon 100-400mm during AAD 2016 and I've started sharing those to my Aviation in Color collection. If you head over there you'll be able to see the results.

So as I mentioned we spent some time in London recently. We were going to spend some quality "landscape" time in Wales but unfortunately my wife had to head to Greece for work so I came back a week early.

One of my must do's in London was a visit to the RAF museum in Hendon to see the Hawker Typhoon but the only "complete" example on the planet had been moved to a museum in Canada!! Second prize was the Stuka and the Lysander but these were both disassembled as part of an assessment of some displays :((

Anyway, at least I got to sit in a Spitfire cockpit and some reasonable images :))

So AAD has come and gone!

Seriously the toughest airshow I had ever shot, Friday was blustery to say the least and Saturday we had to contend with people constantly pushing and shoving into our spot on the flight line.

My Sunday was spent making selections and I now have about 10 that will be processed for publication. Hopefully I can start sharing some results in the next few days.

If you want to see some of the results please follow my Aviation in Color collection as I think I will be sticking to color for this show.

To keep you entertained in the meanwhile, here is one from Swartkop 2016.
