I like the practicality of this bit in Firefox's Photon Design System:

Prioritize Higher Visibility Work
“The higher the expected visibility on parts of your work, the more important it is to align to Photon. If very limited visibility is expected, full alignment is of lower priority. Use platform components until you have time to better align.”

It's a good idea to have a robust system to fall back to when the brand has no clear rules or standards for the components you're designing.

This is it
I'm so happy to share that I'll be joining Maria Health on Monday as product designer. I'll be working remotely with a wonderful team in an industry that I'm very passionate about. It's an exciting opportunity and I'm most grateful to you, my G+ family, for helping me refine my craft and be a better product designer. I can't wait to help make healthcare easier to access for everyone in the Philippines!

If you're designing for the web, do consider that the public is more likely on Android than on iOS, on Windows than on macOS.
