More Southwest photos from our trip three years ago. This is Baker, California and a little Las Vegas too.
We stopped in Baker to see their Alien Jerky collection!

Today's theme is Bottles

I shot these vintage bottles while visiting Nelson Ghost Town in Nevada with Chrysta Ray's Scavenger Hunt Meetup!

Insert Coin
This is the face of a vintage soda machine dispenser. I took the photo in Nelson Ghost Town in Nevada. I love the colors! (This is when a bunch of Chrysta Rae Scavengers met up last year.)
I just printed it out on some Moab paper by Legion. I used Colorado Satine 245 and it came out beautifully! I got a sampler box of paper for Christmas and I'm looking for stuff to print out.

This and other of my photoart can be found here:

While visiting Sedona, Arizona we took a side trip to the ghost town Jerome. It was such a fun place and very much like Nelson Ghost Town in Nevada.

Chapel of the Holy Cross
Sedona, Arizona

The chapel was inspired and commissioned by local rancher and sculptor Marguerite Brunswig Staude.
The chapel was built in Coconino National Forest land in 18 months at a cost of US $300,000. The chapel was completed in 1956.

In 2007, Arizonans voted the Chapel to be one of the Seven Man-Made Wonders of Arizona and it is also the site of one of the so-called Sedona vortices.

Sedona, Arizona
You can see the town of Sedona nestled in the valley in front of the colorful mountain range. Brian and I took a "Pink Jeep" tour in the early morning and I was lucky to capture this view from the distant  plateau.
Now we are back home and I'm trying to get back into the normal routine.

Take It Easy'

It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford slowin' down to take a look at me....
Standin' on the Corner Park (opened 1999 in Winslow, Arizona) is a publicly operated park, commemorating the Eagles-Jackson Browne song "Take It Easy". The park contains a two-story trompe-l'œil mural by John Pugh, and a life-size bronze statue of a man standing on a corner, with a guitar by Ron Adamson. The park is surrounded by a wall of bricks, each with a donor's name on it, and a story by each of the donors describing their fondness for Winslow.
