Rotnheims Knut
Very nice song about Hallingdal, the surroundings of Gol, Rotneim, Hemsedal, Hol, Torpo....
The melody is used by several Norwegian musical groups. The video is uploaded by one of the musicians in the video:
Steinar Ofsdal.
The group's name is Bukkene Bruse, here in the video with not four but three members.

Bukene Bruse:
Annbjørg Lien, a prominent Hardanger fiddle and nyckelharpa (keyed fiddle) player;
Arve Moen Bergset, fiddle player and vocalist; flutist
Steinar Ofsdal flutist and pipe organist
Bjørn Ole Rasch, pipe organist.

In the video are playing:
1. Steinar Ofsdal (born 4 October 1948) is a Norwegian composer and musician (flute).
2. Annbjørg Lien (born 15 October 1971 in Ålesund and raised in Mauseidvåg, Norway) is a Norwegian musician, playing the hardingfele (Hardanger fiddle), violin.
3. Arve Moen Bergset was born in Sandnessjøen in 1972. When he was five, he moved to Vinje, an area with rich folk music traditions. Odd Nordstoga was among his childhood friends. At eight, he started taking song lessons with Sondre Bratland. He released two albums of folk and traditional religious music as a boy singer in 1986 (Litle Fuglen, cassette) and Arvesølv in 1987. For Arvesølv, he won the Spellemannprisen award in the category of traditional music.
Parallel to his folk music career, he is a classical musician, educated at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He has played with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and is since 2003 employed as a violinist in the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Bergset played the solo part in the recording of the two Hardanger Fiddle Concertos by Geirr Tveitt with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra in September 1999, under the direction of Ole Kristian Ruud.

Kristian Øvervollseie (1910-1973) was a Norwegian fiddler from Hovet in Hallingdal.

Kristian Øvervollseie grew up in Hovet in Hol, and lived there all his life. In his youth he learned from Sevat Sataøen from Ål, Tor Grim Gard from Nes and Helleik Kvanne Berg from Hol.

Kristian Øvervollseie was known as an expressive and terrifically good dance fiddler. In his youth rumors went around about his play, and it was said that he got table and chairs to dance. He had a tangled playing with many double stops, and he played in addition a lot of loose string. When he was in the right mood and energy, he played easily on all four strings simultaneously.

Kristian was an important inspiration for Odd Bakkerud and Magne Myhren. He had a top as a fiddler in the 1950s, but withdrew from fiddler life after 1960. He died in 1973.
