A Different Version
Every next level of your life will demand of a different version of you.

National Museum of Western Art
Tokyo, Japan

The Main Building was designed by the Swiss architect Le Corbusier. It is the only representative example of his work in the Far East.

In 2007, the building was registered by Japan on a provisional UNESCO list for World Heritage cultural site candidates as an Important Cultural Property.

In July 2016 UNESCO listed 17 works by Le Corbusier as World Heritage Sites, including the National Museum of Western Art building(1959).

Historical Reflections on Wood
Matsumoto Castle
Nagano, Japan

Staircases
The path leading from the 1st to the 6th floor of the main tower consists of 7 separate sets of stairs. Not only are the stairways all separated from each other, they also rise at a steep 55 to 61 degree incline. The stairs between the 4th and 5th floor are the steepest, with each step rising approximately 40 centimeters.

National Treasure ..Matsumoto Castle
Matsumoto City
Nagano, Japan

It’s one of Japan's premier historic castles, along with Himeji Castle and Kumamoto Castle. The building is also known as the "Crow Castle" due to its black exterior.

It was completed in the late sixteenth century, maintains its original wooden interiors and external stonework. It is listed as a National Treasure of Japan.
Matsumoto Castle is a flatland castle because it is not built on a hilltop or amid rivers, but on a plain.

"Welcome Dome" and "Drum Gate"
Kanazawa station
Ishikawa, Japan

“Motenashi Dome” (Welcome Dome) literally welcomes you when you arrive at Kanazawa Station. It opens the gate to your Kanazawa trip and the large, bright square with 3,019 glass panels will protect you from the rain. This magnificent station was designed by Ryuzo Shiroe and was selected as the sixth “most beautiful station in the world” by the web version of American magazine “Travel Leisure”.

“Tsuzumi-mon” (Drum Gate) has two poles with an arched roof over them, representing the Kaga Hosho’s drum, a traditional performing art of Kanazawa. This majestic gate symbolizes Kanazawa’s cultural mixture of tradition and innovation. Kanazawa station has now become Japan’s must-see station following the opening of the Hokuriku bullet train railway in March 2015.

A unique gasshō-zukuri-styled Roof
Shirakawa Village
Gifu, Japan

I just found +Apt215 Melissa Brown left a great comment on my post https://plus.google.com/+SylviaTing/posts/UuD49KQmVyK
as follows...

These traditional homes resist snow storms extremely well due to the roof shape and ingenious beam support. They remain warm in winters with central pit fires. The wood interiors are spacious and rustic. The thatch does need replacing regularly - every few years. So few of them remain that neighbors and distant volunteers help re-thatch when needed. A full day is required to get the job done. With the Japanese work ethic, they make it happen. They are recognized as cultural assets.

I would like to share one more image of the unique roof of Shirakawa Village I captured.
I really appreciate your nice comment. +Apt215 Melissa Brown

Cosmo Tower, Osaka, Japan

The Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building or Cosmo Tower is the second tallest building in Osaka, and the third-tallest building in Japan. The former name is Osaka World Trade Center Building or WTC Cosmo Tower until June, 2010.
The 52 story building rises 256 m (840 ft) and is topped by a skylobby. It contains three basement floors, a museum, restaurants, observation deck, office space and a conference room. The observation deck is in an inverted pyramid at the top of the structure. A transparent elevator can take passengers from ground level to the top in just 80 seconds.
The building houses trade offices for companies around the world.
It was built in 1995. ~Wiki~
