Okra, which is also called lady’s finger, is an easy growing vegetable. If you have not tried it in your garden before, give it a try next year.

Have a great weekend!
My legs are still sore from Wednesday after walking up and down the wooden stairs at the 1001 steps park.

Spring Garden

I really love gardening. It gives me the sense of closeness with nature, as well as simply being outside. I mostly grow flowers, smaller vegetables and herbs. Now that Spring is here and summer is on its way, my evenings will mostly be spent tending to my little garden. Shown in the picture is a small part of my backyard kitchen garden where I grow lettuce, kale, and herbs. Not only does this give me a feeling of joy every time I make a salad of freshly picked lettuce leaves but also a sense of accomplishment for growing a small portion of our food sustainably and chemical free. If we all try to grow some of our own food or buy locally whenever possible we can do a small part in reducing our food footprint.

The following links to my food posts show how I put my home grown bounty to good use.

How to organize a Yoga and Meditation Retreat for friends in your Home

Don't let a lack of space hinder you from hosting a yoga retreat for your friends! With some creativity and effort, you can organize one in your home. I recently hosted a meditation and yoga experience for my friends and it was fun. Yoga is something I've always loved from my teen years. It is a relaxing and rewarding practice that energizes the mind and body. I practice it at least once a week to slow down from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life so I thought it was perfect to invite my friends to get the same experience.

On the blog you will find a chemical free recipe for yoga mat cleaner

Good morning and Happy BC family day

There is nothing I cherish more than being with my family, even if it is just talking, watching movies, going for a walk or sharing a meal.
