The 925 Building

Started in 1921 and completed in 1924, The Union Trust Building was the second largest building in the world in terms of square feet and had the largest bank lobby in the world. It has been mostly closed for quite a few years. A new investor recently purchased the building and is now planning on converting it to a multi use space including hotel, apartments, retail and conference rooms.

A number of us in the Cleveland Photographic Society got to go on a photowalk of this interesting building. It is a beautiful piece of Cleveland, Ohio history.

A trip to Cleveland's WestSide Market. This shot is from the archives from last year. The shopping was fun. But, the architecture was really something.

Old Cottage

An old cottage on the edge of Loch Lomond in Scotland. This is a very cool looking place. But, the satellite dish on the chimney definitely looks out of place.

In Principio Erat Verbum

This is the entrance to St. Mary's College (Divinity School) of the University of St Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland. Inside the gate is a quadrangle. On the right is a tree that was planted by Mary Queen of Scots.

In principio erat verbum means, "In the beginning was the word."

Who has walked through these gates?

These are one of the gates into St. Leonard's School in St. Andrews, Scotland. As I was shooting them, I wondered who has walked through the gates over the many years they have been here. I added my my steps to this spot.

Winchester Cathedral

First opened in 1093 and still going strong. An amazing cathedral with incredible architecture. They didn't mind us photographing anywhere except for a couple of places. We could even use our tripods.

Not so Scary

The Tower of London on a bright an sunny day. It doesn't look too bad from the outside. I still would not have wanted to be a "guest" on the inside back in the day, whether is was sunny or not. In any case, there is a ton of history surrounding this place. Built, starting in 1066, it has actually been used for many good things beside being a prison.

Leading Lines

Is there such a thing as too many leading lines or not being too subtle? This was shot in London, UK. That is part of the Tower Bridge at the end of the street.

Urquhart Castle

A color version to complement my monochrome post of two days ago. This is Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness in Scotland. I don't think that I'd want to live in a castle here. But, I sure wouldn't mind having a house here.
