NCIS COMMENTARY
There's a great deal of evidence that there was a rift between Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette, which factored into her leaving the show. This article touches on it a little bit. I do think she was getting ready to depart anyway, but it's still a bit sad. At least they didn't green screen a scene with her and Gibbs a la The Good Wife

NCIS EPISODE 15.18 "DEATH FROM ABOVE" REACT

We spent quite a bit of time on the roof in this episode, which make sense as it was one of the best outings of the season.
One minute the crew is wading through Ducky's manuscript, and the next there's a body on the roof! A handyman accidentally electrocuted....so it appears. Meanwhile, Torres wonders who has a chair and umbrella up there.
"It's an NCIS secret breakroom, baby!"
But it's not a handyman accident. In fact, the guy a. had a bomb and most shockingly b. was not a real Mr. Fix-It
In fact, no less than two other phoney handymen have infiltrated the building, while someone on the inside has hijacked the computer system. Everything goes into lockdown. But the REACT team outside won't come in until they hear from the agents or Director Vance inside....but they don't have a way to communicate.
Did I mention that Tony, Senior is in the building for a visit?
So this all added up to a very exciting episode. Jimmy and Bishop being trapped inside Abby's lab and totally destroying it almost, in their attempts to get out. RIP Major Mass Spec.

Gibbs and Torres were loose in the building , but the latter was captured and taken to the evidence basement with Senior (posing as Dr. Mallard to protect Abby who was locked in a morgue drawer which did not phase her at all) where the angry goon started a fire. Thank goodness for Senior's handy Sherlock Consortium magnifying do-it-all glass. Meanwhile, Jack and McGee and Vance plus a computer gal where trapped in MTAC. They eventually realized the tech gal was the one running the invasion. Jack took her down when she tried to shoot McGee and would have liked to pummel her quite a bit. You could tell that Jack did not like the feeling of being trapped.

Alls well that ends well. Namely, Gibbs took out the second henchman with a bat, after creating a Haunted Workroom effect, then was taken as a hostage by the #1 goon but he got the drop on him on the roof....and broke part of the ceiling glass, allowing Vance to shoot said henchman. WHEW! What a thrilling episode.

In the end, Jimmy and Bishop fibbed to Abby that the goons destroyed her lab. (They blew a window out too). And Gibbs was revealed to be the occupant of the secret breakroom, where he settled down to read Ducky's book. Though it's a safe bet no one got a chance to email Ducky their reading notes by his deadline.

This episode dropped a Bishop and Torres pairing hint...but I still say NO because they seem more like brother and sister at this point

NCIS EPISODE 15.17 'ONE MAN'S TRASH' REACT
"The Flintstones Thing"

Featuring the real life show American Pickers and its star Mike Wolfe, which was a fun little cameo.
"I like your show." beamed Gibbs, totally genuine so I think we know at least one thing on Mark Harmon's DVR. The case began when Ducky spotted a clue on the antiques show when he was supposed to be working on his book manuscript. He and his assistant Casey (who was totally in awe of Abby which led to some great awkward segments where Abby was trying to figure out why Casey acted weird around her) flew up to help with an old cold case. Who thinks that Casey is a potential Abby replacement? I think she made a strong impression and could very well be the one.

The case hads it turns and wanderings, as did Bishop's ongoing quest to find a working stapler. Another body turned up. There was only ever one suspect though, so not too much there.

The ending scene was Jack hanging out with Gibb. She came down into the basement, said 'I'm not even going to ask about that", gesturing toward the infamous boat. (My running theory is that its the same boat basically, and Gibbs is always taking it apart and rebuilding it, for some deep emotional reason yet to be unearthed.) He showed her a trunk of things belonging to his father from his WW2 days. During the case, Gibbs found a piece that matched his dad's old timey razor.
"How much do you think that's worth to a collector?" Jack wondered, then added "How much is it worth to you?"
Gibbs promptly responded with a "The steaks are burning", which is not the most subtle way to evade a question. He's not quite ready to truly let Jack into the inner circle where Gibbs keeps his feelings and such.

NCIS EPISODE 15.16 "HANDLE WITH CARE" REACT
"Death by cookies"
GRADE: A
This was a good episode, and I had like crying stuff in my head going on by the end.
When a young soldier drops over from heart failure out of the blue, Abby deduces a care package he received contained cyanide-tainted cookies. There's a special place in hell for people who poison cookies. Just saying. This mystery, in itself, was engaging enough, with suspects being the veteran who packed the boxes, a Sgt. John Ross (Drew Carey), an obnoxious radio host, the deceased young man's wife and brother (obviously those last two), etc.
The mystery though came second to the most important part of the episode: Torrest struggling to sort out misfiled taxes from back when he was undercover. (Like how do you even file taxes while deep undercover?) This provided some great moments of levity.

Of course, the real heart of the episode was how Jack's interactions with Sgt. Ross, hearing the story of how he was POW for 5 years and came back and how he had to deal with that....brought up her own experience.
"Well, when he came back, they didn't have the same psychiatric support system they did now." She said to Vance at one point. But later, after talking with Ducky, she told Sgt. Ross that she was held prisoner for 9 months in Afghanistan. They wanted intel, but she never talked.

Later, when Vance dropped by, Jack slowly broke down. And we found out that she wasn't captured alone, that everyone else with her was killed one-by-one to get her to talk. Talk about some battle scars.

Jack encouraged John to reunite with his daughter he never revealed himself to, because her mother moved on during the years he was missing and presumed dead. She turned out to be the sweet post office lady Molly he always took his packages to.
My heart!

Soundbites.

"Are you Gibbs? I didn't kill anybody." You knew Ross was innocent right then and there.

"Oh, we're closed."
"Oh, we're federal agents."
Torres with the snarky tone.

Also Torres yelling "human being" at the IRS switchboard. HA

I have made a conscious decision to not ship Jack and Gibbs, but had they gotten one inch closer in that moment where he asked if she was okay I probably would have reconsidered. I do look forward to them sitting down and talking about their shared past trauma though. I feel it will be very psychologically healthy.

NCIS EPISODE 15.15 "KEEP YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER" REACT
GRADE: A

It was a race to stop seedy serial killer Hicks from striking again, and boy was it a great episode

FORNELL FOR THE WIN!!! Man, he pulled out the tough stuff at the end there, freeing himself from the trunk and tackling Hicks. And Gibbs rolling in to taser Hicks (three times) and give his buddy a big relieved smile. IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY. Tobias deciding he wants to stay a private investigator, promptly handing Gibbs an itemized bill for services rendered was great too. "I gave you the Friends and Family discount."

Second best bromance after serial killer Triff asked for a couple days out of prison in his old apartment/Tony's old apartment/currently McGee's family's home.
In exchange, he would share info about his old cellmate Hicks. McGee was put on babysitting duty and did not do the best job. Good thing Triff didn't want to see McGee get killed....I mean, didn't want to see the hardwood floor mussed up. After saving his life, Triff informed McGeee they are bonded forever.
"We're family now, Timothy."

Also, Jack is okay but she just lost her best friend so I hope they check on her next episode.

Before #NCIS went on Olympics break, it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Jack knocked out by an explosion while she was talking to Gibbs on the phone. I think she'll be okay, relatively speaking. Her pal is not and is no more. This is the second friend Jack has lost this season.

This will make taking down Hicks all that more personal for the team
